  - Aria   The first thing I felt wasn’t anger.   It was cold.   The kind that seeps under my skin and settles in my bones.   The twins were my anchor.   I held Adrian, feeling his tiny body warm against my chest, and listened to Aurora’s soft snores from the crib.   The world outside this room could burn to the ground, but in here, it was just the three of us, and the steady, rhythmic beat of their hearts.   And the cold, hard weight of my phone in my pocket.   I didn’t want to look at it again.   I’d already memorized the headline, the photo, the comments that were like poisoned darts, each one finding a weak spot I didn't even know I had.   I could feel the shift in the house.   The whispers that had been faint murmurs yesterday were now loud enough to hear through the walls.
