trees
than stars
of years away
the night
dumb in our light
ribbons
them to the ground
upturned, bright
brighter than stars
to help us, light
our lives
us from this
lost among stars
in their light
faults, death,
killing stars
out the lights
bright to help them
trees of their minds
go, light dying
trees
night, stars
the ground
retreating light
cannot stay here
death, where
fade and die
light cold through
, nothing here for us
