Jade's POV

I was back in my birth country for the first time in eighteen years. The tension I was currently feeling as I sat in bed was indescribable. My legs jerked on its own as nervousness engulfed me.

It has been eighteen solid years since I left New York City to live with my grandparents in England. Coming here two weeks after my grandfather’s death told me something was wrong.

Grandma had said we were here for his own will reading but I knew there had to be more to it. We wouldn't just fly halfway way across the globe for a will.

"Jade hurry down the lawyer is here". Grandma screamed from downstairs. I swear that woman screams too loud for an eighty year old. I hurried down the stairs. Judging from the sounds that came from the sitting room there were more than one person present. Entering into the room I stood awkwardly by the door observing as people talked amongst themselves.

Grandma turned her head and spotted me. "Hey sweetie come say hi". She beckoned with her hand. Taking a deep breath I slowly walked towards them. Why I was suddenly uncomfortable was beginning to annoy me. I mean everyone present so far were family members I haven't noticed the Wayne's around yet. Maybe eighteen years apart does this to a person. Making you feel so uncomfortable around people you should be comfortable with. After I left New York for England I lost contact with everyone I knew. The only time I saw aunt Rose and uncle Andrew again was when they came for grandpas funeral and they only stayed a day.Sighing,I took my stand beside grandma.

"Jade look at you all grown up. The last time Andrew and I saw you, you were still a child then". Now see how womanly you are. Aunt Rose said. Maybe she forgot she saw me last year.

"Nice to see you Ragina". Uncle Andrew spoke from beside aunt Rose.

"Same here uncle Andrew, aunt Rose you are looking good". I said sending them a smile.

"Thanks dear. It's a shame Andrea couldn't make it today. You two would have bonded". Aunt Rose said with a smile. "Perherbs another time". She added.

"Good to see you again Jade". A voice said from behind aunt Rose. Looking towards the direction I noticed James smiling at me. Well, everyone seems to be happy today.

"Same here James been a while".

"Okay can everyone have their seats so we can be done on time and carry on with our lives". Grandma said. We all took our seats facing towards James who was to read the will.

"This is the last will and testament of Mr Fredrick Stones dated twenty first of May, 2019. To my son Andrew I leave full control of the company in England and along with the estates I own there. To my beautiful Rose I leave 20 percent of the company in New York. To my lovely Veronical I leave in her hands all the estates I have in New York and my love as well". James paused looking at all of us.

"And lastly to my tender, caring and loving Jade I leave 30 percent of the company in New York. Since it was her father, my lovely son who held those shares before his passing. James locked eyes with me and I offered him a smile. Since she is young and has no idea of running a company, she can only have access to her shares when she's married to Greyson Wayne whose father owns 50 percent of the company. Her marriage to him will merge both companies. Andrew I wish you the best as you run the company, Rose I hope all your heart desires are fulfilled, Veronical my love I pray your remaining days on earth are peaceful, Jade my grandchild you may probably hate me now. But know what I did is for your own good. And finally to my other grandchildren Andrea and Ethan I wish you all the best of life. I may be gone still I live in your hearts".

"That is the will and testament of Mr Fredrick Stones". James said closing the file.
