Oliver's POV
The days leading up to New Year’s Eve blur into a breathless, high-speed countdown.
True to my word, the movers cleared out her apartment by Tuesday, and now her clothes are hanging beside mine in my walk-in closet, her favorite coffee mug sits on my kitchen counter, and the subtle, intoxicating scent of her perfume has completely saturated my home. It no longer feels like my house. It feels like ours.
Before we even realize how fast the clock is spinning, it’s December 31st.
We keep the ceremony small, intimate, and entirely on our own terms—just a magistrate, my parents, and her brother and his wife patched in on video once again to bear witness. There are no grand society galas, no flashing media lights, and no crowded ballrooms. Just the two of us making a vow that we both know was sealed long before we ever spoke the words out loud.
When the magistrate pronounces us husband and wife, I don't wait for a polite cue. I pull her flush against me, capturing her lips in a deep, hungry kiss that leaves zero doubt in anyone's mind about who she belongs to.
By evening, we are packed and ready, heading out for our honeymoon. The world outside is ringing in the new year with fireworks and champagne, but as far as I'm concerned, the only celebration that matters is locked right here in the quiet sanctuary of our new life together.
I pull her close against my side as we settle into our private transport, looking down at the vintage diamond catching the dim cabin light on her finger—the heirloom ring that now binds her to my family, my heart, and my future.
She turns her face up to mine, a soft, knowing smile touching her lips as the first distant pops of midnight fireworks light up the sky.
"Happy New Year, husband," she whispers.
A slow, possessive grin spreads across my face as I brush a strand of hair behind her ear, pulling her entirely into my lap.
"Happy New Year, wife," I murmur, claiming her mouth just as the clock strikes twelve.
We head straight to Italy, boarding the company jet immediately after the ceremony.
The heavy cabin door seals shut, locking out the noise of the outside world, and the second the wheels leave the tarmac and we hit cruising altitude, I unbuckle my seatbelt. Before she can even blink, I reach over, pop her belt open, and haul her right across the console and onto my lap.
She lets out a startled, breathless gasp, her hands flying up to brace against my chest as she straddles my hips.
"Oliver—the pilot—" she starts, her cheeks flushing a brilliant shade of rose as she glances toward the cockpit partition.
"The pilot is locked behind a reinforced steel door and has explicit instructions not to turn around for the next ten hours," I murmur, my hands sliding down to grip her waist, firmly anchoring her against me. "You are my wife now. And I’ve waited all weekend to have you completely to myself without a single corporate interruption."
The realization hits her eyes, chasing away the momentary panic, replaced by that familiar, sultry spark of defiance. She shifts her weight, feeling the hard press of my body beneath her, and a slow, wicked smile touches her lips.
"Is that so, CEO?" she murmurs, trailing her fingers up the lapel of my jacket to tangle in my hair. "And what does the CEO plan to do about it?"
"Show you exactly what it means to belong to me," I growl, capturing her mouth in a searing, possessive kiss as the jet cuts through the dark skies, flying us toward our new beginning.
