True colors

1331 Words
Knowing Scott was looking, I kissed back with passion. Jack moved his hand onto the small of my back and I pulled away looking into his eyes. Before we could continue the music had stopped. And we heard someone yelling that it was time to play some games. Knowing exactly who it was I slowly turned my head making eye contact with Scott. I looked back at Jack who seemed to be thrilled and next thing I know Ally had grabbed my arm dragging me towards the door. “Ally stop” I yelled, but she continued to pull me. “Where are we going?” Still no response. Eventually I grabbed her and pulled her to a stop. She had a look on her face that I couldn’t read, which worried me. I always know what ally is thinking but not this time. “These aren’t the kind of games you are used to Sabrina. These are the types of games where feelings get hurt and boys for some reason love to that”. I felt that there was more to the story, but I didn’t push. “I don’t want you to play there stupid little games and get hurt. I only played once and I told myself I wouldn’t play again because” ally was saying before we were interrupted by Scott. Scott put his arm around my waist and I nearly melted, but I removed his arm because we were leaving. “What are you to scared to play Ally, Scared that your true colors will show again?” Scott yelled as we were walking away. I wondered to myself what was so bad that not even Ally would tell me. Ally stopped dead in her tracks when Scott said she was to scared. She turned her head so fast it almost gave me whiplash. The next words out of Ally’s mouth frightened me because I still didn’t know what to expect. “Game on Scott” Ally said while giving the bird and walking past him. I quickly caught up to her and asked what she had just gotten us in to. She said “truth or dare”. I started laughing because truth or dare was a game played as a kid. “What are we, kids again” I asked. Jack found his way over to us and heard our conversation and said “Your gonna wish you were a kid again”. Scott was trying to get everyone to be quite and gather in the same area. While doing so he started to give everyone a blank slip of paper and pens. I was curious if what it was for but didn’t ask because no one was giving me any answers. I started to make up scenarios in my head of why a truth or dare game could be so bad and why a piece of paper would be needed but nothing made sense. Soon Scott started to explain the rules of truth or dare and the twists to it. “So everyone should have a blank piece of paper and a pen” Scott took a moment to make sure we all did and then proceeded. “Most of the people here have played this but some haven’t and need to know the rules. So instead of randomly picking who is called on for truth or dare, we each get to write a name on our slip of paper and either put truth or dare on the other side. So your fate is in someone else’s hands. The papers are put in a bowl and picked one by one. You could have no chances of playing or you could have all.” As he said that he turned to Ally and winked as she slowly put her head down. I turned to Ally and said “well it’s a good thing no one knows my name besides you.” She looked back worried and said “They don’t have to know your name, they put a description of you like what your wearing.” I sat in silence for a second contemplating if I should leave or not and then thought to myself that no one would put me. I glanced at Jack and saw he had put a description of my dress and I immediately looked at Ally and said we need to go.” She looked confused. “We can’t leave now, I’ve basically already challenged Scott” Ally said. “If this game is as bad as you say it is I don’t want to play.” Ally was standing her ground and wasn’t going to back down from loosing against Scott, but I wasn’t going to back down either. I went to walk off without her trying to stop me. I turned the corner and Scott was there. “Where are you going, the fund just about to begin?” I didn’t know what to say so I just said “leaving”. Scott then grabbed me by my wrist and pulled me into his chest, “don’t you want to have some fun” he asked. “ I don’t want to get hurt” I said. He promised me I wouldn’t which I fell for. I walked back around the corner with Scott’s arm now around me and Ally started waiving at me to come over. So I reluctantly removed Scott’s hand and said “I’m gonna go sit with Ally” as I walked off. “You don’t need to trust him right now” Ally said with a stern voice, so I listened. They are seriously taking this way to seriously. Before I could get lost in thoughts, Jack placed his hand on my leg and said “I hope we get a dare together” my eyes shot open and I’m sure my cheeks were blushing. I didn’t respond, instead I leaned in to give him kiss. As soon as we were about to touch lips, Scott yelled “Let’s Get This Game Started.” A bowl was passed around, and we all tossed in our papers, I put in Jack just because he put my name. The bowl was soon back at the beginning and then it was passed back around to grab a piece out. I opened my slip of paper and it had my name on there. Like my actual name. I looked at Ally and asked if it was from her. She said no and looked worried. Ally then began to open hers and it had my actual name again. I wanted to cry but at least I didn’t give a fake name and I wasn’t caught in a lie. I looked up and Scott was staring at me with curious eyes and then began to smirk. The next word that came out of his mouth made me feel like I was going to pass out. “SABRINA” Scott said silently but I could read his lips. A tear began to fall, so I looked away. I just wanted one night to be the girl who wasn’t fat and a loser. But somehow the one guy I for some reason was attracted to only saw me that way. When I looked back up Scott was grabbing the last paper not looking at me thank goodness. The person next to him was to call the first name. Her name was Teresa and she called the name Toby and he had a dare. Teresa said she would show grace since it was the first one of the night, but I don’t think any grace was given. His dare was to remove an article of clothing every time his name was called on. The next person to read there paper was a boy named Gabe. He opened his paper and scanned the room and looked confused and my heart sunk knowing the name he was about to say.
