Nymera’s POV I remained inside that miserable room for what felt like hours after Elysia left, although I had no real way of measuring the time because the tiny window near the ceiling allowed very little light inside and the silence made every minute feel longer than it probably was. At first, I tried convincing myself that I should simply be grateful for having a roof over my head because only a few days earlier I had been lying unconscious in the wilderness while wondering whether I would survive another night. The problem was that gratitude became increasingly difficult to focus on when my stomach had been empty for most of the day, my body still ached from weeks of exhaustion, and nobody had returned to explain where anything was or what I was supposed to do next.
