We must drive for around an hour, but I can’t be sure. It’s dark, only around ten at night but here it might as well be well past midnight. There are no stars, only the moon and even that doesn’t emit much light. I can’t tell where we are because everything outside of the window looks the same. Mountains and snow, it’s all you can see for miles. I try to think back to my arrival here and work out if we’re going to somewhere with a bit more civilization but the only thing I can remember about arriving was driving through a thin coat of snow and arguing with my mother. There are times I really wished I were more observant. I can’t blame anyone but myself.
