Kori stepped out from the thick tree line. She stopped exactly at the border line, her fingers twitching at her sides.
I let out a low, mocking laugh. I needed to stretch every second. I needed her focused entirely on my face, not the woods behind her.
Dad, where are you? I slammed the words through the mindlink. She is on the border.
