Though she was trembling inside as if it was her first audition, Miranda was determined not to let Mario’s presence in the theatre bother her. Unfortunately, all her resolve seemed to vanish the moment she stepped to the stage and her eyes accidentally caught his gaze. He sat in the front row, arms crossed, an impassive look on his face. Miranda knew better than to look anyone in the eye before an audition began and this mistake turned out to be a death knell. When the music began, her mind was more on Mario’s face than on steps of her familiar dance routine.
