CHAPTER THREE

As I got to the sitting room, Celine was already seated there on her purple night gown just similar to mine, what a coincidence.

There was a bowl of popcorn and a bottle of red wine with two wine glasses on the center table.

“Hi girl” I sat next to her.

“Wow! Girl we’re rocking the same night dress” she said happily.

“Yes girl” I replied all smiles I love that I make her happy.

“So girl, there’s this trending movie on Netflix, I thought we should see it here other than going to the Movies, what do you think?” she asked.

“That’s a good idea” I said to her.

“Okay, but before that, have you figured what to wear to Thelma’s party tomorrow?” she asked

“No, not yet, but I think I have what to wear” I replied.

“okay, so how is it?” she asked.

“Well, my mum made it for me, it’s a red armless sequin dress, I was going to wear it to our company’s fifth anniversary next weekend” I told her.

“Then, it’s settled, I was thinking about going out tomorrow to get a dress for you.

I already have what to wear, it’s a blue laced gown.

You know I want you to look stunning tomorrow, who knows you might catch Thelma’s brother’s eye” Celine said seriously .

“Oh God, Cel, can you be serious for once” I complained jokingly.

“I’m very serious girl, you can get a job and also a man, isn’t it nice?” she asked looking very serious.

“Yea, but he might be engaged or even married, or I may not be his kind of lady, I think he'll have a very high taste do you know what it means to have spent years abroad, he might not even look my way twice” I said truthfully.

“Girl, have you seen you?, You’re a pretty ass lady and no man in his right senses won’t look your ways twice, have you seen your physique, or your height? Or have you heard you speak, your accent is to die for, my dear there’s nothing not to love about you” Celine said.

Truth be told, she isn’t the first to talk about my accent.

I’ve been asked on different occasions if I’ve been Abroad and that I sound like I’ve been to Europe but I’ve never left this country. I haven't even been to up to five states not to think of leaving the country.

I guess I’ve watched a lot of foreign movies and it influenced my accent.

“I’ve heard you girl, but I need to get a job first, cause I know he won’t be swayed by an unemployed lady” I told Celine.

“True girl, and you’ll get a job by God’s grace” Celine said and just then her phone rang and it's her Fiancé, Josh, it was a video call.

“Hey babe” Celine called out blushing

“How’re you doing sweetheart?” Josh asked from the other side of the phone.

“I’m doing well babe, you?” she asked.

“I’m well sweetheart, how was work today?” he asked.

“It was fun and hectic as always, I have good news babe” Celine said smiling and I instantly knew it was about me.

“What good news dear?” he asked.

“Jasmine moved in with me” She said happily.

I knew it, typical Celine, she’d tell practically everyone.

“Wow, that’s nice of her, at least you won’t be bored anymore with her there” Josh said happily.

“I know right, I’m so excited “Celine said.

“Is she around so I could speak with her?” Josh asked.

“Yes of course she’s here with me, Jas, talk to Josh”.

Celine said turning the phone to my face “Hi Josh, Good Evening” I greeted him.

“Big baby Jas, how’re you doing today?” as he usually called me.

“ Just trying to be fine, I’m unemployed” I complained.

“Don’t worry dear, everything will soon fall in place, let’s see how next week goes, I’ll put in good words for you at my friend’s company” he promised.

“Thank you so much, Josh” I appreciated him.

“Come on it’s nothing, Celine said you moved in with her, thank you so much, you have no idea how much she’s wanted you to move in” Josh said all smiles.

“Tell me about it” I said laughing.

“At least you two can keep each other company and take care of each other, right?”.

“Of course, take care of yourself and have a good night rest” I said to him.

“Thanks dear, you too” he said.

“Goodnight babe” Celine said.

“Sweet dreams sweetheart, I love you” Josh said.

“I love you too babe” Celine said and ended the call.

I just love the chemistry between the two, they’ve been dating for close to three years and just got engaged six months ago.

Celine and Josh met at a Seminar and fell for each other at first sight.

Josh is a very successful business tycoon, he owns chains of departmental stores, a shopping mall very popular in the city and also a boutique.

He’s an only son and has two sisters.

Josh is a very caring, loving, understanding and supportive man, he treats everyone around him with love and respect and he loves and adores Celine.

I just love their love, I don’t know if there’s a thing like that actually but that’s how I feel, and I’ve always prayed to meet a man like Josh or even better.

After the call, Cel, connected her Netflix to the television and we started the movie.

The movie was a bit long, it was about an hour and twenty three minutes before it was done, but it was very interesting and my two of my favorite actresses stared in the movie.

It was a romance movie. I retired to bed at almost 11 pm, God, the bed was so soft and with six pillows and a very thick brown duvet, I said my rosary and night devotion.

You might be wondering ‘rosary’ yes I’m a devout born Catholic and I don’t joke with my Catholic prayers.

After saying my prayers I went to bed.

The next morning as early as 6:40 am I heard a knock on my door, I was just done with my morning prayers, I quickly stood up to open the door and it was Celine, she had a tray in her hands.

“Cel, I was just about going to the kitchen to make something for us” I complained as she went over to my bed, placed the tray on it and sat down.

“Well, Morning to you too Jas and my night went well” Celine said jokingly as I sat down beside her.

“Good morning, Cel” I greeted.

“How was your night, baby?” Celine asked smiling at me.

“I slept well, thanks to the soft bed and pillows “ I said.

“I’m happy you had a wonderful night rest” Celine said.

“But babes, how early did you rise?, I mean you already prepared noodles, fried eggs and plantains” I asked her looking into the tray of food.

“I’m doing all that for you, so babe enjoy yourself and don’t worry about the chores cause I know that’s the next thing you’ll say, Nora will be here anytime to do them” Celine informed.

“She has resumed?, I thought she quit” I asked while stuffing my mouth with noodles and egg.

“Well, she didn’t basically quit, she recently got married so I gave a time off for her honeymoon and to know if she can still continue with the job. She called me last weekend to ask me if she could resume and I told her that she still had her job” Celine explained.

“Okay, but Cel, this is so delicious, you’re really improving it shows you’re really taking your classes seriously” I praised her.

“Aww, the chef has complimented me, thanks babe, I just want to make yourself and Josh happy” she said smiling.

Celine isn’t much of the kitchen lady, she recently started getting some cooking classes on t****k and since then she has really improved.

And as for calling me a chef, I’m really good in the kitchen, infact cooking is my hobby and also a way of easing of stress and anger.

I got that trait from mummy, she’s a very good cook and not only that, she always tries out new recipes so I got that from her.
