Damon stayed with her till she fell asleep. Before he left, he took one last look at her
Unaware.
Fragile.
Strong..
"I hope you stay sane in this house." He said softly. He opened the door to leave.
Then stopped.
He walked back to her bedside. A faint smile settled on his face.
"It won't be bad if a stayed a little longer, would it?" He said quietly for fear of waking her.
He sat on the bed for a while before lifting a chair close to the bed. Her eyelashes fluttered. His eyes widened.
He sat still. He didn't want her to wake up.
Her breathing evened. Her lashes relaxed.
He didn't know how long he sat watching her till he fell asleep.
A clearing of throat.
His eyes shot open.
The morning light struck his eyes making him squint. He got up from the chair.
She was awake. Her eyes were focused on something behind him. It was then he felt it.
The hairs on his neck stood. His gaze hardened.
He turned back to face Stefan.
"Good day Sir." He bowed.
Stefan hummed.
He tilted his head and looked at Anna.
"It seems our guest slept well last night." He walked to the other side of the bed and leaned.
He smiled at her
"You had company last night. How was it?"
I can't stay in a cell without a jail guard." She replied steadily.
Damon stood still. Stefan arched a brow and stared at Damon's side view.
"That's nice." He smiled.
It wasn't a nice smile.
"You don't need to feel pressured. He was just doing his job." She smiled at him
Damon looked at Stefan.
It was a hard glare.
"I'll take my leave now Sir." He said calmly.
Before he could move, Anna held his hand and smiled.
"Thank you for the company and the water." She gently said.
Damon nodded and left.
Stefan watched the scenerio.
A smirk laced his lips.
"Seems you're comfortable around him."
Anna nodded without looking at him.
"That will be the last time you'll see him." Stefan quietly said.
Anna turned to look at him.
"I smell jealousy." She said sarcastically.
Stefan scoffed. He straightened and left the room.
*******
Damon walked through the passage, a light smile on his lips.
"At least she's appreciative." He murmured.
"DAMON"
He stopped. It was Stefan.
His gaze hardened before he turned back.
"You'll be posted to the site. Every information I need to know concerning her accident, provide it." He ordered.
Damon bowed and walked into his room.
"That's better." Stefan said and walked to his room.
