Broderick paused for a second.
"If you do this, my grandparents will find out. Grandma already didn't want us to get married. Now, she'll be even more convinced that I forced you into it. And since you don't even like me and nothing's happened between us, she'll absolutely make me divorce you. Don't believe me? Just wait."
Leslie blinked and shot him a smug look. "Ricky, I'm someone who takes things seriously. You were the one who said you wanted to marry me. You came after me first. So no way am I getting divorced! From this life to the next and every one after that, you're mine-deal with it!"
She said it with a serious tone, completely focused, confident and a little fierce.
