Miles's laid-back attitude finally shifted. His gaze darkened as he stared at Lillian. That look made Lillian's skin crawl a bit. She licked her lips nervously, unease flickering all over her face. "Did... did I say something wrong? Miles, why are you looking at me like that?" Miles' eyes did look somewhat like Broderick's. Her heartbeat started to race-as if she was looking into Broderick's eyes. If Broderick ever gave her such undivided attention, even with this kind of stare, she'd probably faint from pure happiness. But Broderick had never looked at her that seriously. His eyes, intentionally or not, always drifted to Leslie, heavy with that barely hidden affection. Miles lowered his gaze. Just because he liked to play around didn't mean he was clueless.
