  The two of them stood side by side-tall guy, pretty girl-it was a whole visual treat.   Someone in the crowd casually snapped a photo with their phone, lips curling into a slight grin. But when their gaze landed on Serena, there was a flash of resentment and bitterness in their eyes.   Broderick waited until Serena got into the car before telling Wayne, "Take Miss Hope home. I'll grab another ride."   Serena's face was still glowing with delight, a shy little smile lingering on her lips. But the moment she heard that, it froze. Just like that.   She placed her hand on her knees, trying hard to fight the sudden urge to push the door open and jump out. Instead, she turned to Broderick with a bit of pleading in her eyes. "You're not coming with me?"   Broderick didn't even look at her.
