In the evening, Broderick Ackerley had just stepped out of his car at Starcrest Manor when Leslie Green came flying at him like a little missile straight into his arms.
Broderick barely had time to react before catching her.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist, looked down at him with sparkling eyes, and called out sweetly, “Honey.”
Then she planted a kiss on his cheek with a loud “mwah.”
Broderick moved his lips, clearly hinting he wanted a kiss on the lips this time.
Leslie grinned and gave him another quick peck—right on the lips.
“Honey, can you carry me inside? I missed you so much today,” she said, voice soft and a little dramatic.
She was being extra clingy today. Broderick's eyes darkened slightly with emotion.
