Intro
It was the day of our wedding. It was the day I've been waiting for; it felt like a dream getting married to my high school sweetheart, and I would have sworn it was the best day of my life. John, my Fiancee father has to walk me down the aisle because my father died long ago, since I was 12 and my mom had run away before I turned 18, leaving me to my aunt, who helped me become the woman I am now.
I tried to not let the memories of my childhood days get to me as I had to focus on the moment. John was like a father to me, and that was enough. I looked at his face while we were walking, and I could see he was trying very hard to battle his tears the same way I did. When we finally got to the altar, he placed my hands on my soon-to-be husband, Joe. He took my hand and kissed it, then we faced the priest.
The next thing I remembered I cared about was kissing Joe, and I was pronounced his spouse. We've kissed a lot of times, in high school and at the university, but this one felt different. It felt as though I was about to melt into the ground, and I never wanted it to stop. Unfortunately, Joe withdrew his lips from mine, and I opened my eyes. Everyone was clapping and on their feet, and I could see my aunt Melissa crying. I wanted to go hug her, but I squeezed my husband's hands instead and held myself together. I'm a wife now, and soon I'm going to be a mother too, all with Joe.
