CHAPTER 9

"You're the only girl in my life, I know that we started this as a deal,but I asked you to be my woman because I like you. I've always had my eyes on you since the time you were dating Jeremy" Alex Banks said.

Clara could see that he was being very sincere. She didn't want to do this before because she felt that they weren't on the same class. Since Alex Banks had the attack, she didn't know what to think anymore. What she felt for him was probably pity.

"Alex Banks, I'll need you to give me time to think about this" Clara said.

"I don't have much time, Clara"

"What do you mean by that,are you going to die?" Clara asked looking bewildered.

"That's not what I mean, I'm not dying. I want us to get married" Alex said and hugged her waist, pulling her closer to his chest.

"I'll give you time to think about it" He said and took off his shirt.

Clara looked at his bare body and her cheeks turned red.

She swallowed hard , trying to resist touching him.

"I worked on my abs just to impress you. Tell me do you like it?" Alex said and placed her hand on his chest.

"Why are you so shameless,put on your shirt now. Are you even taking your medications?" Clara asked,her cheeks turned redder.

"The doctor said that what I need to recover is s*x " Alex Banks whispered in her ear.

He swept her off her feet and carried her upstairs.

In a dark room,a woman sits on a chair in front of the window viewing the scene before her eyes.

A tall hefty man walks in and bowed to her. He cleared his throat to make her aware of his presence.

"Where is he?" The woman asked with a cold voice void of any emotions.

"We can't find him. It seems like Alex Banks got to him first " the man replied.

"How could you let that fool fall into his hands. He couldn't do the job he was paid for. I want you to find him and finish him off " the woman said.

"Yes ma'am " The man replied.

"Call the knifer and tell him that I have a job for him " the woman said and left the room.

Kevin walked into Alex's office and saw Avi on Alex's chair.

" How dare you sit on the CEO's chair?" Kevin shouted.

"Alex Banks told me to take care of things since he's away" Avi said with a sly smile on her face.

"Why would he ask you to do that, I've been working for him for years now and I've never sat on that chair" Kevin said.

"Stop mopping like a child. You didn't sit here because you didn't want to,so get lost. I've got important things to attend to." Avi said and focused on the screen in front of her.

"I won't be able to make it today. Something came up, I'm so sorry" She had sent the message thirty minutes ago. Clara sighed and picked up her bag.

"Clara" A young girl called out to her and ran towards her. She took a seat and sat opposite her.

"Who are you?" Clara asked with a surprised look on her face.

"I'm Quinn, I've been wanting to talk to you" She said and smiled.

"How do you know me?" Clara asked. The girl didn't look suspicious, she looked like a sweet and naive girl .

"I'm one of Alex's ex girlfriends" Quinn introduced herself proudly.

"Ooh, what is it you want to talk to me about?" Clara asked.

"Are you still in a relationship with Alex Banks?" Quinn asked with a straight face.

"Yes " Clara replied not wanting to say much.

"I'm sure your relationship isn't going to last for long. It's just a man of time before he dumps you " Quinn said.

"What are you talking about? It's my relationship not yours ,so you...."

"I'm telling you this because that's the same thing he did to me " Quinn interrupted.

"Alex Banks is really cunning and he's also good with his words. Did he tell you that he loves you and that you should trust him?" Quinn stated.

"How did you know that?" Clara looked really shocked.

"He said the same thing to me. He loves me and he'll protect. But all of it was a lie, he used me to get involved in my dad's company. After having s*x one night,he pushed me away and said that he wants to break up. Not to mention the fact that someone's trying to kill him" Quinn said.

"What, who is trying to kill him?" Clara asked, she was getting more and more interested.

"His stepmother,Mr Banks first wife. Alex Banks is an illegitimate son,so he isn't entitled to the family wealth. Alex and his mother were brought home by Mr Banks but the first woman was against it. A few years ago, The woman's son died, she accused Alex's mother Helen for killing her son. She later on left the house,but she didn't give up on the property. She vowed to take back everything that belongs to her son" Quinn stopped to take a glass of water.

"Where is she now?" Clara asked.

Quinn sighed and rubbed her forehead,

"Nobody knows where she is, Alex has been looking for her for four years now. I almost died once when I was with him because of her attacks. I'll advise you to leave him before you end up like Natasha " Quinn said and got up to leave.

"Who's Natasha " Clara asked

"She's the girl Alex dated before you, that woman killed her. They were about to get married. Alex Banks was marrying her because that was the only way to get into the NS group of companies. Think about it baby girl, I'll see you later " Quinn said and waved her goodbye.

Clara thought about it, Mrs Banks and the multiple attack. She was shocked to the bone, what if Alex Banks was just using her. But what would he gain by using her, she was just an orphan.

Her phone rang out, snapping her out of her thoughts.

She looked at the caller ID,it was Alex. She dropped the phone back into her bag and left.

Alex Banks dropped his phone on the table and sighed in frustration. He had called Clara multiple times, but she wasn't answering his calls.

"Is something wrong?" Kevin asked.

"Find out what Clara did today" Alex Banks ordered.

Kevin bowed and took his leave.

Alex Banks loosened his tie and undid the first button. He took out his pills and swallowed them.

Few minutes later, Kevin came in with a file and dropped it on his table,

"That's the contract from NS chemical. Clara had a meeting with someone today" Kevin said.

"Who ?" Alex Banks asked.

"She met with Quinn Stark"

Alex looked at him as he mentioned the name, "Why would she meet with that girl?" Alex Banks said and ran his hands through his hair.

"Avi,why are you looking all excited today?" Clara asked. Since, Avi arrived at home, she had been all over the moon.

"I finally got Kevin today"Avi said squealing in excitement.

"Are you involved with Kevin?" Clara asked.

"I like him Clara, but I haven't told him yet. I'm waiting for him to come to me. He couldn't stop staring at my boobs till his c**k was erect. He ran off like a child when I caught him " Avi said.

"Good for you at least you're having a peaceful life" Clara said and rested her head.

"What is wrong with you, you don't seem like yourself today" Avi asked and Clara explained everything that Quinn told her.

"He will just lie to my face again " Clara said and sighed for the upteenth time.

"I don't think he's lying to you. I think he hasn't told you everything yet , you both haven't been together for long"

"Alex Banks could be the victim in this case. You know how wealthy families are, what if it was his father who put him up to it. He probably promised him a position in the family. Don't worry about it too much" Avi added.

"What about his legal wife, I've been attacked twice and both of them were paid by someone and Alex Banks knows that. She even silenced the first guy and now Jeremy is also missing. This woman is really scary" Clara spoke in fear.

"Everything would be fine,just avoid Alex for now "

The young woman sat at the end of the large dining table. Her eyes sparkled in the dark and her strong aura filled the room.

Don walked into the room and stood before her.

"You called for me " Don said slightly bowing his head.

"I have a job for you" She said. She picked up a grape from the fruit plate and threw it into her mouth.

"I want you to kill Alex Banks. Kill him and name your price. I'll pay any price just to have his head" she said and took another grape.

" I'll kill him and bring his head to you without any reward. I also despise that family. After what he did to me,I wouldn't mind risking my life to bring that bastard down " Don said angrily.

"Good. Since we're on the same page,I trust you'll handle the job properly. I give you a week, finish him off within a week. Can you do that?"she asked.

"Yes ma'am,I promise I won't disappoint you " Don bowed and left.

She looked at the grapes in the plate and laughed loudly.

"Alex Banks,I promised to kill you and I'll fulfill that promise " She spoke to herself and laughed again.

"Hey , what are you laughing at sister" Quinn said and put on the lights.
