CHAPTER 12

Quinn Stark was led into the office by the secretary. She's walked into the office while the secretary bowed and left.
She ignored Kevin who was sitting on the armchair and walked up to Alex Banks. He was looking out the window, turning his back against her.
"Say whatever you want to say and leave" Alex Banks said coldly.
"I want to talk to you in private,so send Kevin out" Quinn said.
Kevin stood up and left,he didn't want to look at Quinn. He had always disliked her since the first time they met.
Alex Banks sat on his chair and looked at Quinn closely. She wore a short blue dress that showed her thighs, and her breasts were almost popping out of the dress. She wore heavy accessories and tied her hair in a ponytail. Quinn smiled as she felt his gaze on her body. She sat on his laps and put her arm around his neck.
"Do you miss me, baby" She said and kissed his temple.
"What are you doing?" Alex Banks whispered in her ear. Quinn felt her body shiver as she felt his hot breath on her neck. She took his hands and put it around her waist.
"Where's your sister?" Alex Banks asked.
"She's dead , why are you bringing her up " Quinn said and loosened his tie.
"Are you sure, didn't you come here to tell me about her" Alex asked again.
"I came here for you, Alex" She said. She put her hand on his belt, trying to unbuckle the belt.
Alex Banks caught her hand and pushed her away.
"Do you take me for a fool?" Alex said and smirked. He looked at Quinn disgustingly.
"Alex, what are you talking about?" Quinn asked. She was confused.
"I know that your sister is alive. Everything that has been going on was her doing. Tell me where she is hiding." Alex Banks said.
"I,I don't know what you are talking about. My sister died few years ago and you know that." Quinn said.
"Drop the act Quinn Stark, you have always been a terrible liar. I know that she wants revenge. Revenge for something that wasn't hers in the first place so tell me where she is while I'm still asking nicely" Alex Banks said,he smiled at her.
"I'm not going to tell you where she is freely. You'll have to pay for it"Quinn said with a sinister smile on her face.
"How much do you want?" Alex Banks said impatiently.
"Not how much,I don't need your money. I want you Alex, break up with Clara and I'll tell you everything you need to know " Quinn said but Alex Banks reminded silent.
"If you need time to think about it, that's fine. I'll just have to wait for your answer " Quinn said and picked up her bag.
"You don't need to wait" Alex Banks finally spoke.
"I don't need you to tell me anything, I'll find her myself " Alex Banks said.
"And what will you do when you find her?" Quinn snapped back.
"You wouldn't be able to do anything. She's a lot smarter than you think,she wants revenge and she'll be able to get it if you don't work with me. Remember that I know all of her plans" Quinn said and left the office.
Kevin saw Quinn storming out of the office angrily. He went back into the office to see Alex.
"What did you two talk about, I'm pretty sure the conversation did not end well" Kevin said smiling.
"You're right,it didn't end well but I must admit that she's gotten bolder since our breakup." Alex said, staring into his computer.
"What do you mean by she's gotten bolder?" Kevin asked.
"Have you always been this dumb?" Alex Banks asked, leaving Kevin dumbfounded.
"She's trying to sell out her sister,if Maya Stark finds out what do you think she will do to her" Alex Banks said.
"I get it now, she'll probably try to cut her off" Kevin said, nodding his head.
"She's always been like that,she gets rid of anyone or anything that stands in her way" Alex Banks said,he rubbed his forehead with his fingers.
"Are you thinking about how we'll find her because Quinn isn't going to be of any help" Kevin said,he knew whenever Alex rubbed his forehead, that means he is in thinking mode.
"I don't need to find Maya Stark anymore" Alex Banks paused. Kevin looked stunned.
"I'll make her come out of her hiding hole herself" Alex Banks grinned.
"How are you going to that. She is extra careful and won't make the mistake of showing herself in public " Kevin asked curiously.
"I'll have to think about that first before taking any further action " Alex Banks said.
"Your father sent a message to you earlier today. He said to gather the executives and apologize for the misconduct " Kevin said.
"Wow,I guess you really have a good habit of informing me late about certain things " Alex Banks said.
"Reschedule the meeting to next week. I've got a lot on my hands this week and if you have anything else to say to me,say it now or else I'll have to fire you for being incompetent " Alex Banks said with a wicked smile pasted on his lips.
Alex Banks fed Clara another spoon of porridge. He took another spoon and brought it to her mouth but she refused to take it.
"I'm really full, Alex . I can't take anymore of that" Clara said pulling her face away.
"The doctor said that you can't take spicy foods. He recommended porridge for you, it'll help you recover fast so just take one more spoon" Alex Banks coaxed her.
"One more spoon,you said that about five spoons ago. I'm not eating anymore and you can't force me " Clara said stubbornly.
"If you don't finish this , I'll ask the doctor not to discharge you tomorrow " Alex Banks said smiling.
"How dare you threaten me? I don't care if I'll have to remain here for a long time. I'm not listening to you again " Clara said and turned her back against him.
Alex Banks sighed,he was already stressed and now this.
"I'm sorry,baby. I'll put the food away" Alex Banks said and the food was carried away in no time. Clara turned and smiled at him.
Alex Banks held her hands,
"Is something bothering you?" Clara asked.
"It's nothing,I'm just worried about you" Alex said and stroked her face.
"Don't worry about me, I'm fine"she said.
"Babe I want us to get married" Alex Banks said. Clara looked at him in surprise. Why did he mention marrying her suddenly.
"I don't think I'm ready to get married. After everything that has happened,I want to take my time" Clara said.
The thought of marrying Alex Banks really excited her but she knew somebody was trying to get rid of her and getting married to Alex Banks now was only going to worsen the situation.
Alex Banks picked his phone and stood up, "I want to make a phone call, I'll be right back"
"Alex,I think you should go home and rest. I'll be fine by myself" Clara said, she felt she was stressing him out.
"If that's what you want then I'll go home and rest" Alex Banks said, he kissed her lips.
"I'll see you tomorrow" he said and left.

Alex Banks drove to the main house. His father had called him over,he adjusted his tie and went into the house. The servants saw him come in and they quickly bowed to him. No worker in the house had dared to look him in the eye except he specially calls for anyone of them.
"Where's Mabel?" Alex Banks asked. Mabel was a worker in the house. She was very close with Alex, people always think that she is his sister anytime they were together.
"She's studying in her room" A servant spoke up.
"Tell her to pack her things, she's going back with me" Alex Banks said and walked to his father's study. He opened the door and walked in,
"Don't you still know how to knock. I thought you would have learnt that by now" Mr Banks said.
"Do I really have to knock to come into my father's study?" Alex Banks asked and sat opposite to him.
"Where were you coming from?" Mr Banks asked.
"I think you know the answer to that question" Alex Banks said.
"You should focus on work and have fun with her later. You left in the middle of board meeting because of that girl"
"I asked you to apologize to the board and reschedule the meeting " Mr Banks said, from the tone of his voice you would know that he was angry.
"I'm not apologizing but I already had the meeting scheduled to next week so chill out " Alex Banks smirked.
"You,I don't know why I put you in charge in the first place" Mr Banks said.
"You put me in charge because you knew that I'm the only person competent enough to handle your business " Alex Banks said and the old man laughed.
"I want you to end things with that girl,stop playing around and get married" Mr Banks said seriously.
"I'm not playing around. I'm serious about her, I'm going to get married to her " Alex Banks said and Mr Banks laughed again.
"Your sense of humour is still the same as when you were a child. You say things to crack me up,I love it" Mr Banks said.
"I'm not joking dad. I'm serious this time"
"I'm not going to accept that girl, Alex" Mr Banks said seriously and the tension between them rose.
"Maya Stark is alive" Alex said.
"What!! How is that possible. Did you confirm it or is it just a rumour" Mr Banks asked surprised.
"Kevin confirmed it and Quinn Stark also said it. She's responsible for Clara's condition. She wants revenge, she's going to come for me and everything you've ever worked for" Alex Banks said coldly.
"Are you threatening me?" Mr Banks asked.
"No, not at all. You know how Maya Stark is,so I'll give you two options. The first one is, you accept my marriage with Clara and I'll take care of Maya Stark. I don't think I have to mention the second one because you know what it is already" Alex Banks stated.
"You really know how to get what you want. I accept your first condition " Mr Banks said. He had always lost to Alex Banks.
