"Wake up Niamh." came the sharp tone of her mothers voice, which had her unnatural cyan blue eyes widening in shock because the last time she had seen her mother had been a little over four years ago when she had come home to find her mother dead in her living room from a drug overdose. "Mom?" she asked softly, rolling over in the king sized bed she had and looking to the corner where the woman who had chosen drugs over her own family was. "My sweet Niamh..." breathed the curly, short haired woman. "I must apologize for how I treated you when you were younger." she then said. Niamh's eyes widened further because she couldn't believe that the woman she was speaking with was her mother. "Who are you?" demanded the twenty four year old, keeping her eyes on the being in front of her.
"I am your mother. I know I don't seem like it but I am." replied the woman. "Bull s**t. You would never of said you were proud of me mother." replied Niamh, moving further up in her bed as she tried to grasp what she was seeing. "It does not matter if you believe me or not. I have come today to tell you something I could not tell you when I was alive." replied her mother who seemed like she was getting tired. Niamh's head tilted before she said, "And what's that mommy dearest?" knowing that, when her mother was alive, she had hated being called that.
Her mother cringed but then let out a small sigh before she said, "Today is your twenty fourth birthday. You will begin to experience some weird things and will see things you most likely haven't seen before. You must be careful until he arrives. Otherwise you will - "
The sound of her alarm going off had the woman jolting right up from the oddest dream she had ever had the pleasure of having. She had never had such a vivid dream before and it only scared her more. She blinked as she tried to figure out what her mother had been trying to tell her before her alarm had gone off. "Sonvabitch." she hissed before she got up out of bed. As she padded from her bedroom and into the kitchen of her one bedroom apartment where she begun to start her coffee pot. Well her coffee perked she ate before she glanced at the time and, then, she ran for the bathroom where she showered.
After her shower she stepped out and started her morning routine. Though she stopped and gazed at herself in the mirror. Where as the women in her life all seemed to have green, brown, hazel, or blue eyes... her eyes had been an unnatural cyan blue since she could remember. Niamh sighed quietly before she shook her head, causing her still wet pink hair to fall into her face. "Ugh." she muttered unhappily before she tightened her hold on the towel before she fixed it so she could work on doing her hair and make up for work.
On any normal day Niamh would pull her hair into a professional looking bun. Today, however, she opted to switch it up. She pulled her hair up into a half ponytail which she gave some loose curls to before she applied a bit more make up then she normally would. Although Niamh, on a normal day, would only wear mascara and cherry scented lipstick, she opted to go for eyeliner, mascara, and a soft peachy pink matte lip stick. She didn't quite understand why she was switching her normal routine up like she was, all she knew was that when she was down she was ready to get dressed.
Keeping the beige towel wrapped around her rotund figure she walked from the bathroom and sighed as she could hear her coffee pot finishing up the last bit then she went into her bedroom where she grabbed the clothes she had picked out the previous night. She pulled the black, long sleeve, calf length dress on over the black bra and matching panties she had opted for. Following that she pulled on a pair of fishnet stockings then her heeled boots.
Once she was dressed and had spritzed on some of her cherry perfume, she went and got her usual cup of sugared coffee. After that she gathered up the things she needed then she rushed from the apartment after locking up. Running down the stairs as she stuffed her drawing pad into her bag she begun to think about the dream she had had.
By the time she had reached her place of work, she was just ten minutes late. Something Niamh never was. She hated being late, hated being tardy for anything, so this made her feel really frazzled. She skidded to a stop in front of her boss, and best friend, Kellie. "I am so damn sorry I'm late Kellie!" she said. Her friend, a woman who was stick thin with curly blonde hair and dazzling green eyes, merely smiled before she said, "It's alright. I'd be late to if it was my birthday to." and she smirked.
Niamh let out a semi loud laugh before she shook her head and she said, "I got side tracked by thinking about this dream I had Kellie." Kellie blinked slowly before she said, "Oo was it a dirty dream? Please say it was." Niamh let out another laugh before she said, "No." after she said that she turned and went into the room where she worked. It wasn't a big room, just big enough for the chair where she had people sit when she pierced them, and the table she had people lay on when she tattooed them.
Once in her little office she started to clean up for the very first appointment she had. After that she sat around working on different drawings, wanting to keep herself good. However she stopped when she heard the bell above the front door ding to let them know they had a customer. "Just a minute!" she called out before she got up and left the room. She stepped into the waiting area to see a two men. Upon first glance they didn't seem like much, but then they both looked at her and she stopped moving because their eyes... both of their eyes were the same exact shade of cyan blue that she had.
"Niamh? Whose here?" Kellie called out from her own area, which caused Niamh to rapidly blink before she cleared her throat and she said, "Customers. I got it." and then she moved behind the counter and she said, "Hello. How may I help you two today?"
The taller of the two men stepped forward and he said, "Yes I called about an appointment today? To get a tattoo with someone named Niamh and I'm sure it's you." He flashed her a small smile and Niamh felt herself flushing briefly before she nodded. A second later she said, "You are the one who wanted to get the dragon on his back, corrent?" He nodded before he said, "My name is Abel." before he turned his attention to the man behind him and he said, "That is my brother Caine." before he turned back to her and said, "He wants to get something pierced so I figured he could come with me and someone would be able to help him figure out."
Niamh glanced to the man she now knew was Caine and she looked at him. His hair, unlike Abel's which was a jet black in color and looked like he had just rolled out of bed that morning without a care in the world, was platinum blonde and pulled back into a ponytail. The only true similarities the two men had in common, really, were their eyes and even then that freaked her the hell out. "Alrighty then." Niamh finally said before moved to pull out the consent forms and such. "You two will have to fill these forms out. I'll need a form of ID and then I'll show you," she glanced to Caine, "The book with piercings I can do in it. And you can look through that well I work on your brothers tattoo. Sound good?" The only response she would get would be a grunt and she rolled her eyes. "Rude." she muttered before she turned and went to get the book she had mentioned.
She never noticed the shared looks of amusement upon their faces nor did it really matter to her. By the time she had come back with said book the brothers had filled out the paperwork needed.
It really didn't take long to have the men in her room, ready to go. When Niamh started to tattoo Abel, Caine looked through the book before he said, "Did you really do all of these?" to which she said, as she worked on Abel's tattoo, "Yes. I've been in this business since I was seventeen." It had been something Niamh had always wanted to do, and it had been amazing to get the chance to be taught how to tattoo and pierce by Kellie who was in her early forties, though Niamh always thought that she was in her late twenties. "Wow... and how old are you if you don't mind me asking?" Caine then asked.
Niamh looked to him for a moment before she continued with her work. "Twenty four." she said softly.
She did not notice, nor did she care to notice, that the two men shared a surprised look. "So... are your eyes real?" Abel suddenly asked, he needed to know.
"Mhm. I was born with them." replied Niamh, sounding distracted as she kept working.
By the time the dragon was done, Caine had seemed to pick a piercing and well his brother watched she did the piercing. After that they paid and left.
Niamh didn't realize it then but that would not be the last time she would see them.
