Chapter 10When CJ arrived at my villa just before dusk, he wasn’t alone. “I told Pansy, here, what we had planned, and she wants to come along.” I’d definitely erred in my choice of secret operative. “CJ, the whole point of—” “Plus, she brought you a present, didn’t ya, love?” “Yes.” Pansy smiled brightly. “Here.” She was sweet and all, but I was a little pissed. “What is it?” At first, I thought she had handed me a cork from a wine bottle. The dog maybe. “Set it down,” CJ said. “Set it…?” “Yes, mate.” He nodded, and I did, right by the family photo on the credenza. “Show him, Pansy.” She stared at the object and said, “From itty bitty tiny size, now grow bigger before our eyes.” “Whoa.”
