She drove into the customer parking area in front of the Wauchope Hotel, stopped a few metres from the front door, and sat for a moment looking at the hotel and its uninspiring surrounds. Eventually she got out of her vehicle, locked the door, and walked purposefully to the entrance. She recognised the police almost immediately.
