Nicholas looks at the door and Konrad explains, “The doctor is in. After that, I'll go in and ask if she wants to see you. I'm not doing anything behind my princess's back.” Nicholas nods, he knows only too well how quickly things can go wrong. “That's okay. Dean will be here soon, he'll fill you in if that's okay.”
The door opens and the doctor comes out. “She'll pull through with no lasting damage. You have a fighter here.” Konrad doesn't shake the man's hand, “Thank you very much.” Then he goes back into the room and Nicholas waits impatiently.
Leila looks up when Konrad comes back into her room. He quickly sits down on her bed and says, “The doctor says you won't have any lasting damage.” Leila nods. Then Konrad takes a breath, “Do you feel like eating anything in particular?” Leila
