Alpha's Playmate

The Mate Bond

"I will go be with her," he said. " I am her Alpha."

"You are more than welcome to go be with her Alpha. Only her mate bonds with someone could help her heal faster, but having someone there is always best." She told him gently.

Nicklaus followed the nurse back to the recovery room. He saw Haven lying there with tubes in her arm and a breathing mask. She looked very sick, and it hurt his heart to see her that way. He walked over to her beside, his heart on his sleeve, and wrapped his arms gently around her small frame.

"I'm so sorry this happened, Haven," he whispered to her. She stirred, but the doctor had her heavily medicated. He made sure to stay close to her, at times right next to her, so his presence could help her heal. He knew what she herself did not know yet.

He must have fallen asleep because he felt a timid hand wake him touching his shoulder. He sat upright quickly, and suddenly, Alpha reflexes, you know.

"Alpha, sorry Alpha, I need access to her arm, " a nurse was telling him softly. She was very petite and had a young face frame by straight brunette hair. She slowly reached around him to attach a blood pressure cuff, and she had syringes in her hand.

"What are you giving her," he demanded.

"It is a pain medication, sir. We... we just want to make sure she isn't in any pain and that she stays resting." She stampered.

"Ok," He said gruffly, and he moved out of her way just enough to allow her access.

The girl leaned around him to administer the medication. "This will make her a bit sleepy still, Alpha. It is a good thing, though, sir, so she can heal." He grunted at her, resumed his spot next to her, and pushed her brunette hair away from her face. She stirred at his touch and turned her face to meet his hand.

"Nickluas," she whispered.

"I'm here, baby, just rest. You are safe. " He told her.

Jared came back soon since Haven was fast asleep, Nicklaus stepped out of the room to talk to him. He looked exhausted, and he was covered in her blood still.

"Report," he demanded unceremoniously.

"It was Crestridge. Alpha Ponds ordered a hit on you." Jared reported and stood nervously, waiting his Alpha's reaction.

"Alpha Ponds is about to find out what happens when you attack the Bloodmoon pack! They don't say I'm the fiercest Alpha in the area for nothing. I'll make this man fear me as much as everyone else does!" Nickluas fumed.

"Gather some men, Jared. We will leave in two hours, and I need a detail here at the hospital watching Haven." He instructed, and then he went back into Haven's room. Nicklaus was Alpha of one of the oldest and most feared pack in the area, and he was about to expand his territory. Alpha Ponds would rue the day he messed with him.

Nicklaus talked softly to Haven.

"I have to go now, but I will be back as soon as I can. I'm sorry for leaving, but I have to do this," he whispered. She didntcrespond and he hated not being here if she woke, but he had to act on this information now and make sure they paid for their attack.

He left her, leaving several of his most trusted guards there to protect her. He met Jared outside with a battalion of warriors.

"Do they know the mission?" He asked as he walked up on Jared preparing his battalion.

"Yes, Alpha. Gain Ccess to Alpha Ponds any way possible and detain for you," He answered while he strapped on armor and weapons.

"Let's get on with it, then," he led his men towards the vehicles. The Crestridge packlands bordered their eastern side, so it wouldn't take more than an hour to drive there. They would stop somewhere near their border and then sneak across so they did not alert them of their presence.

Nickluas had time to think and cool down in the car. He would take Ponds prisoner instead of slaughter him on the spot. He would need these people under his thumb, and having their Alpha could do the trick.

Haven woke up in her hospital bed keenly aware the Nicklaus wasn't near. She pushed the button for the nurse and waited. Her eyes felt so heavy like she couldn't keep them open and her brain felt so foggy, but she remembered that he was here with her.

The nurse came into the room after passing inspection from the guards outside. They took their job very seriously and were not taking any chances with Alpha's new playmate. Alpha seemed very attached to this girl and they didn't want to lose their heads.

The guards thought it weird to see their warrior king Alpha so gentle with someone. He was intensely feared by so many, and had a reputation for blood. Hense the bloodmoon pack name. However, there was no way they were going to question anything.

"Where is Nicklaus?" She asked the nurse.

"He went on a mission, Miss. He didn't want to leave you, but he had to go lead his men. Too avenge thr attack on you all," she explained.

"Oh no," Haven worried instantly pulling her hand to her mouth and trying to sit up.

"Oh, no miss. You can't get up. You just had surgery. Alpha will be ok. He is the bravest, most feared Alpha ever. No one can beat him." The nurse said with pride gently pushing Haven back down into the soft bed. "Rest now," she said and gave her more sleeping medicine. Haven felt herself drift back down into the land of dreams.

Jared pulled off the road into a secluded area. All of the vehicles followed suit using the overgrowth and trees to hide them. Nicklaus jumped out and his men followed suit quickly getting geared up.

"Look, thr mission is to apprehend. I do not want to kill him if we don't have to. Use whatever force necessary. Be silent and deadly. " He instructed.

His men were used to this tactic because they had done many missions with their Alpha. Alpha Nicklaus had never needed to do a full on invasion. He found it much more attainable to reach a goal by infiltrating mercenary style. A few select men, sneak in and destroy.

He and his men made an upside down V formation and proceeded through the dense woods. They moved stealthily making no noise sliding easily past the inept border guards.

Nicklaus was ready to face his enemy.
