CHAPTER 1. Their Marriage

1492 Words
EMIR'S POV (SEVERAL MONTHS AGO) Emir woke up early in the morning to do his daily ran, it is still dawn and the sun doesn't show any glimpse yet. He turns his body sideways to where his wife is sleeping peacefully, facing her back at him. He knows he's always been too harsh to her, but he just wants her to accept the fact that no matter how she fights against him, they are bound to each other forever for the rest of their lives. He put his feet down on the floor and went to his wife's side to see her face. He crouched down and got rid of the strand of her hair that covers her face. She's like an angel sleeping quietly, with her long black hair that was being spread to the pillow. Her natural soft pink lips that I always love to kiss and her hazel eyes that I always want to take a look at me even if it is full of hatred. I sighed at that thought. I ran for more than 7 miles almost every day before getting ready to work, I always make sure my physique is well looking so that the people that I might encounter will not act stupid in front of me. I want them to have fear and respect for me. "Where is Hope, she wakes up already?" I asked our helper Ana about my wife while catching my breath when I came from my run. "Yes Sir, but she is still in your room, do you want me to call her?" She asked. "No, I'll just go up," I said, looking up in our room's direction. "Okay Sir, I'll get water for you instead." She offered. "No. Just get the breakfast ready," I ordered and went upstairs to our room. I saw my wife standing in front of the glass wall window facing outside with her arms crossed in front of her. I walked closer to her quietly and hugged her from behind, but she abruptly pushed me away. "Oh! Come on! We've been married for more than a year now and you still act that way?" I was annoyed by her actions. "No matter how long we get together you will never make me love you or even give a little care for you because I will always hate you Emir Villafranco." She said spitefully with a raging face. This is how our marriage life is, I did everything for her to learn to love me since the day I decided to make her mine, but every move I make is like a crime to her eyes. She always hated me and killed me several times already every time she told me those words. But I won't let the pain overwhelm my feelings and show her my weakness. She is my wife, I gave her my name and so she has no other choice but to stay with me and do her duties. "Sweetheart, I just came from my morning run. Instead of flaunting your hatred to me, why don't you get a glass of water for your husband?" I said as I got closer to her. I felt her body shiver as I leaned closer and whispered to her ear. "Please?" I pleaded, and immediately she ran out of the room. She's always afraid of me, she even said that I forced her on our first night. Even if the truth is, it wasn't my fault if she is still innocent and was hurt for the first time. I took a shower and when I came out I saw the glass of water on the bedside table, but Hope is not around our room. Maybe she's in the garden again checking her flowers. When I came into the dining area the breakfast was already ready, I sat at the head of the table. "Call my wife for breakfast," I ordered Ana who was standing beside the table. "Sir, she already took a slice of toast and coffee, and said not to call her anymore for breakfast." She explained. "Do I need to repeat myself?" I asked while dreadfully looking at her and she immediately obeys. After a while, she came back with my stubborn wife. "Why do you always make people obey you unwillingly!?" Hope asked while approaching my direction. "Unwillingly? Who? Ana? I am paying her to follow my orders, it is her duty to obey me." I said firmly looking at Hope's eyes. "Yeah right! I forgot that you are the almighty Emir Villafranco. Well, my Lord, my apologies but I have finished my breakfast earlier so I can't join you." She said, mocking me. "I guess you forgot what I am capable of? Sit down Mrs. Hope Villafranco." I command. I saw her small hand turned into a fist, and stubbornly sit on her seat. "I will just accompany you, I will not eat. I don't have the appetite to." She calmly said looking down. "Why? Are you not feeling well?" I asked and reached her forehead to touch, but she moved to avoid my hand. "No, I'm fine." She said. "Okay, I will be home early, after lunch. Be ready I'm picking you up." I said as I started eating. "Why? Where are we going?" She asked confusingly. "To a doctor." "But why? I don't need to see a doctor, I am not sick." She defensively said. "I believe you," I said. "So? What are we going to do?" She asked again. I stopped eating and faced my wife, she kept her stare at me waiting for my answer. "I need an heir, Hope," I said looking straight into her eyes. She was dumbfounded by my statement and worry-filled on her beautiful face. "You don't have to worry sweetie, they will just be going to check on us and make sure we are healthy to have babies," I explained and wink at her. "But we are healthy, especially you. Right? I mean we don't have to go to see a doctor, maybe now is not the right time that is why we are not granted yet." She spoke up. Suddenly she held my hand with her small ones and gently squeezed it, looking at me. I swallowed, I haven't remembered when was the last time she looked at me like this. "Emir, please. I'm just scared." She pleads. "Alright, I understand," I said and put my other hand on top of hers, but she quickly pulled it out. I sighed. I arrived at my building and everyone greeted me, but not a single one of them I greeted back. I always believe that this is how a boss and employees should be to earn their respect. I need to show them that I am powerful. "Sir, Mr. Lopez is in your office, waiting for your arrival." Henry, my assistant said. We are now at my exclusive elevator, going up to my office. "Haven't I told you not to allow him around here?" "I'm sorry sir, I tried but he refused to listen," Henry said looking down. "I am not paying you to obey other's orders, I want that man out of my office now," I commanded and the elevator door opened. "But sir," "No but Mr. Red, ask the securities to do their job, I want him out before I get there," I said and gestured to him to get out of the lift. I pushed the button for the highest floor and stepped out when it opened. I walked to a door that leads to the rooftop and stayed there. Minutes later my phone rings, it was my wife. "Yes, sweetie?" I asked when I answered the call. "Can you tell Lionel that we are not going to the doctor anymore? I asked him to drive me to my father but he refused because he said that it was your order not to go anywhere." She complains. "Alright dear, I'll call him," "Oh no, wait!" She stopped me. "Si. Sir?" It was Lionel, the driver I assigned to Hope. "Did my wife beat you? Why does it sound so frightened?" I asked as I smirk at the thought of my wife getting rough again. "No, no sir," "We are not going to the doctor anymore, take her wherever she wants, and don't forget to give me reports. Put back, my wife." I ordered him. "Yes?" It's Hope. "Give my regards to your father once you get there." "Okay, I have to go. Bye," and with that, she ends the call. I just stared at my phone after and sighed. I don't know for how long we are going to be like this, I thought that this will all change when we have our child already, but she seems not ready yet and I can't force her to do that. She is still young and maybe she still wants to enjoy things.
