The moment Scarlett sent that message, I teleported straight to Damien. My heart was broken. I knew Damien would be too, but a heart-broken wrath demon would unleash hell to soothe their heartbreak. All of us demons teleported away, regrouping. I was grateful to Abigor for commanding the troops, so that Damien and I could have a moment to calm ourselves so that we could go and rescue our mates. I was trying to reach out to Scarlett. I needed to hear her voice again, but the more I tried, the more I slipped into despair.
“Damien, we can’t lose her,” I sobbed.
“We won’t,” he whispered, his voice breaking.
“I can’t feel her through our bond. f*****g hell, what are they doing to her?”
