At some point while waiting for Lilah to wake up, I fell asleep at the foot of the bed. Exhaustion hit me quite hard, after everything that had happened the past few days. Even as I slumbered, nightmares of the things I had done plagued me in every sense of the word. It made it difficult to sleep. But it did allow me to stir and check on Lilah. She had remained out cold all night long. The longer she was unconscious, the more my guilt ate away at me.
