Chapter 6The trip to the Olympia took three days but until the final morning on the transport ship, Bri hadn’t told them anything about the events on her ship. Jules had hardly seen either MAR-A or Bri, since he mostly stayed in his cabin. Something MAR-A didn’t do except for those times that Jules woke to find MAR-A lurking in the darker shadows of the cabin. Or when he got out of the shower and faced MAR-A’s cavernous, “I scared you.”
Each time, Jules looked at the droid without trying to hide anything. MAR-A’s sensors could pick up on all of his biometric readings, heart rate, temperature, pupil dilation, respiration rate, and blood oxygen without even making contact. Each time MAR-A hissed or groaned with evident irritation and stomped off.
