WE stayed a few more hours at Kara’s house, and I invited her outside so we could talk alone. While we were sitting on their patio, I noticed Kara looking at her ring.
Jared: “Do you like it?”
Kara: “I love it. How did you know my ring size?”
Jared: “I measured it one time when you were sleeping.”
Kara: “That’s clever.”
Jared: “How do you feel about us getting engaged?”
Kara: “I feel good about it.”
Jared: “Like I told your dad, I’m willing to wait until you’re ready to get married.”
Kara: “We can get anytime, anywhere. It doesn’t matter because we’ll be together forever, anyway. We can even get married after we graduate from high school. You don’t mind coming with me to the city when I go to medical school, do you?”
