It was already late when I got home. I walked slowly because my feet were already hurting. Walking in three-inch heels was not a good idea. Brian was waiting outside when I arrived and looked really worried when he saw me.
Brian: “Kara? Where have you been? I’ve been calling and even went to the funeral home, but there wasn't anyone there anymore.”
Kara: “I just walked around. I’m fine. I’ll go get some rest now.”
I could sense that Brian wanted to ask a few more questions, but he didn’t anymore. He let me go inside the house, and I went straight to my room. I took a long hot shower before changing into my sleepwear. I was a little hungry since I missed dinner, but I just stayed in my room. I didn’t have an appetite anyway.
