I eventually had to leave my room because I was hungry. When I got out of my room, I found my Aunt Juanita sobbing in the kitchen. I approached her and asked, “Auntie? What happened? Why are you crying?”
My Aunt hugged me as soon as she saw me and said, “It’s Dennis. He’s dead.”
I was hoping that Dennis somehow survived, but I guess it was all wishful thinking. Despite knowing what happened to him, I couldn’t help but be stunned. I couldn’t stop myself from crying as my aunt did. Leon found us still hugging and crying in the kitchen.
