CHAPTER 5 Sadie When I wake up, I have no idea where I am. My head throbs and my stomach feels tender. I throw the covers off and check the clothes I’m wearing. Panties and a faded gray T-shirt I don’t recognize. Panicked, I turn my head, but the other side of the bed is empty. I rack my brain and the memory of Suzy shouting, ‘Shots! Shots! Shots!’ comes back to me, followed by me walking somewhere on Devon’s arm, the two of us giggling like the schoolgirls we once were. Devon. I’m at her place. I take a breath.
