Day Eleven and Three-Quarters Dear Diary, I promised to be honest in my diary. Here goes. With our little chat over, Lotti strolls across the chamber. As she glides along, her see-through kimono sways behind her. The room falls silent. All eyes focus on Lazare’s eldest. Excitement fills the air. Squiggly feelings twist through my stomach. What does everyone else know that I don’t? Lotti ascends onto a little stage by the far wall. From her new height, Lazare’s daughter surveys the room with that same predatory edge.
