Chapter 86. Excuse

1252 Words
George Garroway had begun the attack. As soon as he gave the order, the women of the herd began the plan. They started with those in the cafeteria, the cook put sedatives in their food, before they fell on their tables, they subtly took out the people, as soon as they began to fall, it was time to go out to cut their necks with kitchen knives, there had been only five of them, but they had been the beginning of a flame, a very powerful one. This was the revenge they were waiting for. The next women attacked in the gymnasium tried to get close to the three who were found and covered the cuts with towels. They had been planning the best way to do it, and it was just now when they were kept apart, they analysed their routines. As for those who worked in the family business, they had cut them into pieces with a saw to leave them piled up in a utility wardrobe and put a towel to prevent the blood from seeping through the door, they were worried that it might attract attention, although any wolf could smell fresh human blood, but they took the opportunity to put an alarm, the fire alarm and water falling so that no one would be suspicious. The women had dressed up as cleaners and nurses, they had made the suggestion to them to keep people in a room, but the wolves were sent to the boardroom where as they passed through the door they had their throats slit, they were running the bodies out of the way so they wouldn't get in the way of whoever came in. They used the blood to write on the wall: An eye for an eye. I hoped they would regret killing their men, even if they were going to fight, they should have given them a chance to defend themselves, but they had been treacherously attacked, and with a red-eyed wolf, there was no good chance of beating him, it was unfair of them knowing that, to allow so many to fight with vnetaja. They were furious. They attacked everywhere, it mattered little if they generated panic or not, because they only wanted them to be dead, with the mothers they had taken a different tactic, they had taken them to schools posing as their teachers, some had been invited to tea parties and others were only killed when they opened the door of their houses. There were many deaths, more than they were expecting. The police were not something they were worried about because they knew that the Hallands covered up all the losses because they needed to protect the fact that they were werewolves and that the murders were not random, but had revenge in common. —All it takes is Harley— one of the women announced over the phone to their leader. —Find him, and if you bring him in dead or alive, I'll give you millions in reward— announced George. He didn't really care what state he was in, he was the first born of the Halland family, just having his head on a stick was enough to make anyone afraid of him, he needed to position his pack at the highest level, when fear would grip the werewolves and they would recognise his power, then they would bow down to him. He wasn't sure how many deaths it would take to make them fear and admire him, but he was sure Hunter Halland wouldn't change his mind, even as the alpha leader, with red eyes, with the strength that implies, he hadn't made the ceremony to take the position, that made everyone think he might not be able to convince everyone in his pack that he was what they needed and if there was a gap he would use it as an impetus. His mother called him several times, George just hung up. The idea of the children had been a contentious issue between the two of them, George did not agree to take them as prisoners because it was costly for the herd and risky in case they were caught. The woman's proposal was that some of them should be left free with their parents, but that would only make the feeling of unease and desire for revenge grow within him. He had chosen to leave them... underground. Despite the order of their leader the women, they let the children live and allowed them to run away, because this unconscionable vengeance was an adult matter, they did not take part in the pain and harm, they wanted them to stay away at least if it was up to them. —Are you all right?— one of the wolfwomen asked a boy running down the street in blood. His eyes were swollen shut and he looked upset. He shook his head and tried to free himself, but the woman wouldn't let go. —He killed her, she's dead— she salivated, she had in her heart the feeling of a mother, she felt guilty for what was happening now, because when they found out that her father died, her son had also decomposed, but seeing the murder, it was a trauma that would last a lifetime. When the werewolf woman released him, he looked up at the house he had come from and saw her. Walking out to one of her pack mates, he could see the psychopathic grin coming off her face, the woman was certainly beyond rescue. Harley had left a few hours earlier to get some air, he had been considering going home, he had received a detailed report on the gynecologist's visit with Andrea Smith, the pregnancy was progressing well, the weeks that had passed allowed for either man to be the father of the child, he thought he could be the father and that Hunter would fight to the death to keep that baby, he walked away from town. —What can I do then— he asked towards the sky. Selene the goddess was looking at him from a cloud, she could feel the sorrow he felt in his heart and for the first time she felt sorry for him, her son seemed lost, she loved all werewolves, she wanted to see them happy, even when he had treated her as he had done. —Be patient— she replied, appearing out of the air, making the werewolf jump into the air. —My lady, my goddess, I am not worthy of an answer from you— he hastened to crouch on the ground and not dare look at her. —You have learned very well my man— the woman approached with a gentle tone. Harley hesitated whether he should answer her or not, for she was unpredictable. —You surprise me more and more— the woman exclaimed —I am going to reward you for learning from your mistakes. —Excuse me my goddess, but this is something different, I am not doing this for a reward. When you took the gift of being a werewolf from me, I felt I was lost, I didn't realise I was valued for being the first born and for being an alpha, but now I have come to know the pack better, to understand how hard it is for humans, how much we underestimate the limitations of others. —I know, that's why I did it.
