Chapter 26. A new enemy

Andrea Smith left for home. At that moment she did not notice the attentive looks that the staff was giving her for leaving with the youngest of the heirs, after Harley had defended the woman to the hilt, even the patriarch of the family had come.

—Are you all right?— Hunter asked, seeing her a little pale —If you need anything, you can ask me.

The girl stared at the werewolf, he was being completely adorable, she didn't understand what he had done to deserve the kind of attentions he was getting now, but thank heavens for having him there, although she was still too ashamed to involve him in these troubles.

—No, I...I'm fine, in the midst of what's happened— she gave a long breath —I'd just like to know...How did you know it was wrong?— There was a tense silence as they walked down the sidewalk.

Andrea could see the honesty in his expression, he was furious because he adored this woman and she could have been assaulted, by a complete i***t, he wanted to do unimaginable harm to the guy, but all the eyes of the people in the city would be on him, if he died it would make him a martyr, although if he disappeared and no one found his corpse, he could live with that.

His inner wolf roared approvingly, "Let's do that," he whispered.

—About our relationship?— Hunter urged her.

—Relationship? I wouldn't know if I should call it that way, I mean, it's the third time we see each other and to tell the truth I don't know anything about you, when I was asked about your last name, I had no idea how to answer, we don't know each other well enough to have a relationship, besides I just got out of a relationship and look how it went, I'm still dealing with my decisions— the werewolf understood that this verbiage was a product of the fear he felt for what had just happened.

—You can ask all kinds of questions, if that's what you want. I'm an open book with you, besides I don't want you to feel pressured to do something you don't want to— now it was the werewolf's turn to sigh —I think we have a connection, I like being around you, it brings me incredible peace, besides we understand each other in every way.

The woman's cheeks flooded with a shockingly red color.

—That's all we need to know— Hunter turned to face her, brushed some unruly hair from her face to put it behind her ear, then leaned her face, stealing a small kiss from her lips —It's too soon for us to have something, you're right, but we can have an open relationship, until you know me well enough to stay only with me.

Andrea followed her instinct, moved in for a deep kiss. She put her arms behind his neck, reducing the distance between them, by instinct the werewolf, positioned his hands on her buttocks, gave them a little squeeze before urging her to jump up and be pressed against his waist.

A small laugh came out of Andrea's mouth.

—You're a complete lunatic— exclaimed the girl.

—Are you going to do my open relationship girl, or not?— made a strong movement against her pelvises, creating a friction that sent an electric shock down her back, Andrea felt all her hormones were completely rising.

Harley was furious, aside from the bad publicity generated, the shareholder claims that would not be long in coming were about seeing them together. His inner wolf wanted to jump on his younger brother and tear his throat out, he wanted to fight to the death if necessary for the desire to be with the woman, but appealing to his more sensitive side, he had to remain calm.

—You must let her go— affirmed his father sitting on the curb of the conference table.

—What?— He didn't understand what the main werewolf was all about.

—He's your younger brother, you're going to get the pack, the company and the title, if you try to go after the girl he'll go crazy.

Harley wanted to bare his fangs in a retro way, the alpha inside him told him that no matter what his younger brother's desires were, or what kind of life he had to live before, he didn't care because he wanted this woman, he had proven in the past that he was worthy to be with her.

—I will be the next leader of the pack— he replied simply.

The older man gave a sad smile.

The rest of the day was much simpler, the people in the office were a bit nervous, but did not dare to say much. I stayed quiet in my office, I was drinking a bottle of alcohol all afternoon, I was tired.

I would have to expedite things so she wouldn't make the decision to stay with Hunter.

Chris J. Anderson had done everything he could to get over this bitter pill, but he definitely couldn't overlook it.
