Chapter 47. Hunter Halland

1101 Words
It could be said that Andrea was playing with two very dangerous waters, both Hunter and Harley, they represented completely different things, and now having the CEO of the company in her house she realized that there were many differences between the two. Harley was gentle, but demanding. He liked things a certain way and was willing to fight to make them that way do the other hand, Hunter was always concerned about his feelings, his safety and could give in when she indicated that something really mattered to him. Now he didn't know how to take what he heard. Harley seemed to think that they would have a chance as a couple, which was absurd. There was not even the remotest possibility that it would happen, starting with their different social positions, their age and their personalities, there was not, there is not enough money in this world for that to happen. An s*x or two have no major importance, but having a sentimental relationship is definitely on another level, one that required a commitment that she was not willing to make, the one who truly knew those secrets hidden in plain sight, is Hunter and just now he was not here, he would be the only one who would deserve that privilege. —Your relationship is not formal and right now— Harley pointed to the space between them, —you can't deny that there is a connection between the two of you. —You know it's an absurdity, besides you know the guy I have a relationship with, he was the same one who brought me home yesterday, Hunter— when the words came out of Andrea's mouth, she knew there was no turning back. The expression on Harley's face said it all, he felt drained, tired and hurt. He was trying so hard to fight against the current, he had all these responsibilities that required him to stay strong, but with her it was different. He didn't have to pretend to be strong, he wasn't interested in her money and he didn't want to climb in her social position either, it was just about being himself, which was all she needed. He liked that she accepted him as he was, she didn't hound him about his past, nor his future. There was no pressure about what would happen next, no pressure about the next step in the relationship, he liked the idea that he was the one who had to look for her, his only problem was Hunter Halland. His brother had a lousy temper, he always had, but now that he had awakened the crimson eyes, he was sure it had only gotten worse. —Hunter isn't who you think he is— he whispered reluctantly —Haven't you noticed anything strange about him? —He wasn't sure why he was approaching the conversation that way, because after all, if she freaked out because he was a shape shifter, she would, no matter which of the two brothers he was. —Are you talking bad about someone you barely know? — Andrea rebuked him, thinking that it was unbelievable that he was capable of trying to talk bad about the other person with whom she shared a relationship, they had nothing for him to act that way. —I barely know?— Harley let out a cynical laugh —I think Hunter has kept too many details to himself, I guess by your attitude you don't know his last name. —You're right, I have no idea what his last name is— her cheeks flushed red with embarrassment, it had been a roller coaster of emotions since that man came into her life, she hadn't had time to go into much detail. —-Well, that explains why you don't know our connection- seeing the confused look on her face, made him hesitate, it seemed incredible to him how detached from reality Hunter had her— the man you're dating is my younger brother, Hunter Halland. Andrea gasped, how was that possible, was that why he had so much money and didn't work? Actually, that would explain a lot of things, like the respect people felt when they went out or saw him, he seemed to be a bit of a celebrity, maybe that's why he didn't want to be seen in public, so as not to draw attention to himself. She thought about the day of the meeting, Harold Halland's attitude, all that tension she had experienced was probably because he did know, he knew that her children, both boys were interested in her. That put her in a horrible predicament. She had had unprotected s*x with both of them, and it was possible she could get pregnant. Looking at their strong features and fascial features, it was obvious they had an undeniable resemblance, Andrea began to feel like a fool for not noticing, even the town sheriff had made a hint to her about Hunter's attitudes, she was the only one who hadn't been able to tie the ends together. —So, brothers?— a crazy idea came to his head, Harley nodded —Since when do you know I'm with him? It was the alpha's turn to be completely silent. It didn't occur to him that bringing up the subject might blow up in her face, because after all she was right, they had met before and it was almost impossible with her brother staying at her house that he wouldn't have the slightest idea what kind of relationship they might have, now that he had already made the mistake, he couldn't simply run away from the situation. —I found out a couple of days later, it was Hunter who came to the office to tell me that Chris J. Anderson was coming to your house to harass you— the werewolf thought that admitting it was the lesser of his evils, because if he didn't, when his younger brother did it would be even worse. —If you knew I had a thing with your brother, why did you kiss me? Why sleep with me? That's just disloyalty between you, you knew what was going on between the two of you and, even so, you slept with me, you put me in the middle of both of you and you want to talk bad about your brother?— The more she explained things, the worse it sounded. Andrea was angry, she felt furious. She was a complete i***t. —I like you a lot. You're exactly what I was looking for.
