I want you to take me home

1416 Words
Andrea thought this was one of the riskiest things she had done in a while. When her mother was diagnosed five years ago, her life had taken a 180-degree turn and she had to adapt to the new reality, where she had to be in constant communication with her mother and the doctors to follow the most appropriate treatment plan for her illness. She wanted some time for herself as a woman. As soon as she walked through the door of the bar a country song was blaring loudly against the walls, it was a little warmer and she felt it was a comfort to her heart that had just broken into several pieces because of that i***t Chris, who had probably already made it all the way home to hide under his controlling mother's skirts. She cursed herself for having trusted a man like that. When would she learn? —What would you like to drink? — Hunter whispered against his ear in a low tone. There was something about her, she was special, the alpha told him. He had no idea why he was fooling around in a bar instead of going in search of the pack, but he felt it made sense to be by her side. He wanted to find out why he was attracted to her. Could it be animal magnetism? His father had explained to him when he was a boy that when a wolf found his mate, his insides would know, everything in his life would lead him to her, but he didn't believe in that theory. —A cold beer— his answer made the man more excited. —Blonde or dark? —he asked as they approached the bar where the bartender was already attentive to their conversation. —Blonde. —Make it two — they sat side by side at the bar —Well, video man, how many followers do you have? —the question took him totally off base. Does it matter? Then he remembered that he had used his influencer facade on her. As soon as the beer arrived, she took a long swig of hers, leaving it almost half full, that provoked a smile on his face that he tried to hide without much success. —Three or four, maybe five now. —Three or four thousand? —he shook his head with a smile, taking a swig of his beer. He thought she had a lovely smile, was impressed by how good her messy hair looked in the dim light of the bar. —Millions on i********:, I think— she was about to spit out the drink she just had, in began to laugh at his gesture —I don't keep score much, the guys are more into that— the same ones who had sat a few tables over, away from the couple, ordering a big round of wings with beers, which they would charge Hunter for later. —Am I with a celebrity? — a blush began to creep up his cheeks at Andrea's question. He didn't like being the center of attention despite growing up surrounded by people, he had never seen himself that way, he had simply been born into the right family and that explained everything, with the exception of the next leader of the pack. The problem of being the second son in the family of the head of the herd, is that the firstborn must grow up to be the leader to guide everyone to a new generation of changes, but instead of being born as a beta, Hunter Halland was an alpha in the full definition of the word, which made the coexistence difficult between his brother and father, because he could not accept that they put rules, according to the traditions when the time comes he will have to fight for the position of boss. Caught in the middle of two worlds, with difficult decisions to make, was the weight Hunter carried on his back. —I'm just a man, normal— she snorted, pouting with her mouth. —Yes, of course— she commented skeptically, then he took his iPhone out of his pants to put it on the bar, opened the application and it turned out that he actually had more than seven million. The girl's jaw was close to touching the floor of astonishment. She could not believe what he had ahead. It was not the number of followers, but his photos. They were just landscapes. He thought that in today's consumerist society he would have pictures of himself as an egomaniac, these expensive parties, yachts or trips around the world, but it was not so, none of that seemed to fit his personality. If he did not see how he opened the account on his cell phone, he would not believe that this man is capable of having that sensitivity to the most subtle things. When he began to look at his style, he noticed that he had a great willingness to capture the wolves in their natural state, which he found interesting. —I can't believe it, they are... I didn't know there were accounts like that, with so many followers—Andrea had trouble finding the words, by that time she realized that, if she was a landscaper, it had nothing to do with the video she shot or the gun she was carrying —If you are a landscaper, why did you say that in the video? —A part of his heart was afraid and excited to know the answer. Perhaps because of the beer or simply because I wanted to be honest with her, I had no desire to lie to her. —You're right, humor videos aren't my thing, but...that guy was a jerk-—he finished his beer in one pull before asking for a refill. —you could see how he was treating you and I thought he needed a bit of an earful- his eyes looked a bit apologetic at the girl's incredulous impression— I'm sorry I scared you, I thought he might come to hit you and you don't deserve that, no woman —the man put an unruly hair behind her ear, making a shiver go through her whole body. Those words spoken with such conviction moved his heart. She turned her head a little so he wouldn't notice the slight blush that appeared on her cheeks and finished her drink with force to ask for another. One became different to the point that they moved to a table so they could talk more comfortably. Hunter realized that she was very funny and joking. After the fifth beer, her face had acquired the color of a tomato, especially in her ears. That was when she took her hand to put her back to cool her cheek. Andrea's sanity had gone out the window on the second beer. She had a low resistance to alcohol and the more she listened to the man talking in front of her, the more the idea of taking him to bed became the logical answer to her deepest carnal desires. —I think you are very drunk— exclaimed the young man with a hint of laughter in his voice —You should go home, I'll call a cab— as he was about to stand up to do so, she held his hand tightly, making him lose his balance and lean vertiginously over her, brushing her lips. Their hungry gazes met. He felt a fierce hunger, to eat her himself no matter who might look at them. He wanted to make her his and he knew she wanted to claim him too. In the past, Hunter had had occasional s*x with some human girls, but his hormones hadn't been raging to this extent since he had gone through the transformation when he was in his teens. He felt like a kid about to explore new territory. —I don't need a cab— the words slurred out of his mouth. Looking at her eyes, Hunter knew he had clouded judgment. His friend and bodyguard signaled that they should leave. He bit his lip, he felt hesitant. She squeezed his hand again, attracting his attention. —I want you to take me home, Hunter— the man closed his eyes and let out a surrendered sigh, her name sounded so good in his mouth, he knew he couldn't fight her.
