The room was awfully silent when I walked in, Caspian had already left me to bear my burden myself. Wilson who stood still on the side was ordered to leave.
We were both alone and still, he said nothing.
"If you want to have me punished then you might as well do so now" I bluntly stated, nervously tapping my foot on the ground with my hands folded to the back. I clicked my lips and waited for his response.
Sebastian was slow, his droopy eyelid lifted to me as he hissed under his breath, "You surely do have some nerve, don't you?" He stood to his feet as he walked towards me, "Aurora is all talk no game" he claimed with a sly mock on his face.
He was an inch closer and I still did not bother moving.
"If that is what you think then so be it," I said politely still having my folded hands behind my back, I won't have him test me like last time, I dread a repeat.
Sebastian squinted his eyes as tried to see through me and my pretentious act, "You are not always this peaceful" he confirmed.
"I am, Your Highness" I spoke in rebuff of his words, promptly added, I said, "I think the King is yet to know who I truly am"
"Of course I know who you are" He retorted, "A small-time con woman who thinks she could scam the King with her wits and her very inexperienced crew of floppy fellows striving to become fearsomely dangerous meanwhile they are just a bunch of fools who aren't smart and you..."
Sebastian paused for a laugh as he looked at me as if I was a clown, "We were going to dance, what happened?"
I knew he was poking me to react but I didn't return for that, I have caused so much trouble for myself already, I didn't want to act to it. I shifted backward to avoid my twitching hands from getting busy.
"Where are you going to?" Sebastian asked when he saw that I had taken a step away from him, "Are you trying to run away again?" He asked again almost as if he wanted to laugh as he knows that even if I tried to run, I would always get caught.
Time will tell, you useless King!
"I am tired of the jokes, make yourself busy and go get me more herbs from the Royal Physician, the ones he gave are almost finished. Also, do make sure to tell him that I am getting stronger thanks to him, the herbs he prescribed are truly working" Sebastian said as he turn away from me and went for his bed.
"I will do so, Your Highness," I said with a bow, turning slowly to leave when once again he sought my attention, "Also, when you return get one of the maids to prepare me a bath, for two" he signaled the numbers with his fingers.
"I will do just that, Your Highness," I said as I left, leaving the doors for one of the guards waiting at the door to close.
So as not to stress myself too much, I lied to Wilson that the King has sent him to get the herbs he requires from the Physician and give them to me, he believed me easily as he went on to do so.
That being settled, I simply asked one of the maids assigned to the King's court to prepare for the King his bathe.
I waited for Wilson to first return before I went back into the King's Chambers, having a good whiff of the herbs I knew was opium, the smell was different from the one the King vapes, the one had a more intense smell that was hard to resist.
I will surely check it out when I have the chance.
I returned to the room to see that the King had already changed into his bathrobe, "I have gotten the herbs you wanted" I said to him.
He directed his hands to the table, "Drop it over there. And my bath?"
Immediately he asked, the door was knocked, and one of the maids who I had relayed Sebastian's message to had come in to let him know that his bath was ready.
Sebastian was a foot out the door when he noticed I wasn't following him, he asked, "Why aren't you coming along?"
I was confused, I have never once followed for a bath since I started working for him. "I didn't know you wanted me to, Your Highness" I apologize even though I didn't mean it.
"I have made it clear that I want you everywhere I am, have you forgotten that your eyes are mine? Quick, get in line" He ordered, and I stood among the maids.
The bathhouse was decorated so quickly under such notice, despite this, that wasn't even the problem here, the issue here was why wasted so many flowers to decorate the entire bathhouse when all he wants is to bathe.
I mean he is bathing in the water and not the room! I don't know if I am making any sense here. I want to believe I am the only sane one in this Palace.
The other day I heard that the Queen Mother has her bath with freshly strained milk from cows, this was to enhance her beauty or some sort and though I am angry at such thinking, the effects did look promising.
Do they even think of their poor subject who might need just a drop of that milk?
"You all can leave," Sebastian said to his maids as they all did as instructed, "not you, Aurora. You are to stay here" he stopped me when I joined them as well.
"Why?" I asked defiantly, setting myself up for another rebuttal with the King.
"Why?" He questioned, "I thought I mentioned it, one too many times that I want you by my side always, no matter where I shall be. You need not ask these questions"
"My apologies, Your Highness. I shall wait" I said.
Sebastian slowly took off his robe as I watched him do so, he smirked which made my stomach turn by the way, as he said, "You can look away if you want to"
If you think I shyly turned away then you thought wrong, I stood there and watched him, I was his eyes after all. His body was even mid, nothing so special from the great King of Juofou.
Okay maybe I am lying, I mean those arms are something, his perfectly made body... Don't think I will describe the King, I am still not moved. He was ok, I would give him a negative one for effort.
Sebastian stepped into the rose-filled bath with the steam surrounding the entire room. He relaxed his back and stretched his hands on both ends, closing his eyes to bask in the warmness of the pool of water.
"Aurora" he called my name and I responded. "This bath was made for two, was it not?" He asked.
"Yes, it was" I replied.
"If it was, then why are you over there..."
