Austin Conquest. Martin pov. I couldn't believe that Steve was dead. Who would do that to him? Steve didn't have enemies, nor did he keep grudges with anyone. I was so curious about his death that I had it investigated. Just as I suspected, he was murdered. So I called Gabriel. I gnashed my teeth. “He was poisoned,” I said. “How did you know that?” Gabriel replied. I stared at him, “Because I had his body examined. The poison made it look like a brain convulsion.” “What should we do?” Gabriel agitates. “We avenge him by finding out who is responsible for his death,” I frowned. After Gabriel left, I knew that he was scared. Well, I don't blame him, who wouldn't be? My plan now is to kill whoever was involved in his death. Gabriel pov. I was at the airport awaiting my flight. I was scared, who wouldn't be? The very thought of dying scares me. Thinking of how Steve was killed made my anxiety even worse I'm sorry, Martin, you would have to do it only. Hours later, my flight was next. While I was in my seat, just as the plane slowly went into the air. Thoughts of my cowardice haunted me. Austin pov. Weeks later, after Steve's death. Martin planned Steve's burial alone. Luckily for me, I was able to disguise myself as a friend. But I didn't impersonate the Frenchman. There I saw Martin for the first time in years. He looks mature. It was like he had already made it far in life from the way he was dressed. After the funeral rites were completed, I ran into Steve's wife. Pamela. She was attractive and beautiful. No wonder he felt for her. Martin pov. I sighed, “There is something you need to know.” Pamela sniffs, “What is that?” Should I tell her? How would she take it if she knew that her husband was murdered? There is no need keeping it from her, if she doesn't know now, one day she would. Pamela's eyes were red from the tears she shed for mourning her husband, my brother. “He was poisoned,” Pamela froze for a moment.“What?” she screamed in terror. I stayed with her for a while. Trying my best to comfort her. But all seems futile. I promised to care for her, and I also gave her some cash. Austin pov. There she was. Talking to some group of people. I stylishly approached her, “Hello, miss. I'm a very close friend to your husband. We met several times. Immediately I heard of his death, I rushed down here.” She cleans her face. “Thank you for showing up at his funeral. You don't know how relief it feels to know that there are still some people around who care.” I grin. I noticed that people were gathering around in front of us. What's going on there? I'd rather check it out. They were women. Up to ten in numbers. They claimed that they were all his baby Mama's. They even said that he bought a house for each of them. They came to claim his supposed inheritance. While they were battling with Pamela, more came. But this one's came with their kids and pictures of themselves and Steve. Pamela became overwhelmed with the pressure. I could tell from the way she struggled to keep her cool. “Pamela, I will support you in anyway I can. I will make sure we find the person responsible for your husband's death,” I promised her with a smile. She held my hand. “Thank you. I'm grateful,” she sniffs. Moments later, I went to an unknown location to meet with someone who could help me cover up my tracks. a blinking bulb lit the room. The floor was covered in dirt and dust. A figure reveals itself to me from the dark corner of the room. “So you came after all,” the police officer said to me. From the tone, I could tell that my presences was expected. The figured individual was a police officer. He even came with some officers. Maybe he feared me. “What do you have for me?” I asked boldly without even showing remorse. He walks to me from the darkness. “Your brother Martin is on your tail. They discovered that your brother was killed. Right now as we speak, they are on your tail.” Just as I expected. He really thinks he can catch me. Let's see how far this would go. As planned, I settled the officers and left. I gave them an assignment to help me find out more about Gabriel's whereabouts. He was the only person absent from the event. Martin pov. I called a meeting with all the women who were involved with Steve. How could he live such a shameful lifestyle? I felt pity for Pamela. She's the only person keeping her family together after Steve's death. I was able to pay them off with two million dollars each. It was a lot, but I had to. When I was done, I met with Pamela. “Thanks again for everything. I don't think I can repay you for everything you have done for me today,” Pamela said, still trying to compose herself with a shaking voice. “No worries. That's what family members do for each other. It would be a bad thing if I just left you alone. Besides, you are my family and my brother's wife. Even if you move on, you are still family,” I assured her. “Where is Gabriel? I didn't see him, but I got his message. Why did he reach out to me with a foreign number? What's really going on?” she became suspicious. Damn. What should I do to keep her at bay? She can't know about this. “He traveled for a business trip. He would be back soon,” I lied with a finger cross. Austin pov. I drove to an unknown destination to meet with someone. It was a very massive compound decorated with ornaments and ceramic statues. This better be worth my time. The doors opened. I slowly walked in with caution, gazing over my shoulders as I took each step into the building. It was a lady. She was sitting on a chair in the open. The inside of the house was merely furnished. But the interiors were outstanding. She tilts to her side as she senses my presence. “Thanks for coming here to see me.”
