I took a sip of my water, trying to do something to escape the unsettling silence that had settled as Claudia and Victoria left. I didn't know how much comfort I was drawing from their presence until they left. It was like someone turned on the AC as I suddenly started to feel the chill of the restaurant, notice the weird looks I got from the customers and waiters as my walking stick was placed by my side.
