My spine still felt cold even after we had left the hotel and throughout our journey home. Ethan hadn't followed Luke because apparently it was an emergency and Luke had left home without informing him.
Though knowing Ethan he would have made a security detail to follow Luke from afar while giving a sense of privacy. My mind still swam from my conversation with Chloe.
I always knew that Chloe was pretending, but this was the first time she ever removed the mask and the thought made me shiver involuntarily. Knowing was one thing, but her openly admitting was more annoying and far scarier.
I guess a part of me still wanted everything to be a coincidence, for there to be a special reason why my sister would seek to ruin my name, career and steal Luke from me.
