I looked at the kind nurse that I finally bonded with after a week of her bringing my treatment. Her smiles and looks of care really helped me tide through my time in the hospital.
Victoria and Claudia had visited, both of them trying to talk over each other about how their days were, but were quite united when it came to dissing Williams and Luke. Claudia promised to put a foot up his legs next time she saw him, and thinking back to University days – she might really pull through on her threat.
Hopefully she valued her job more and Williams knew better than to push her. She didn't climb through ranks of cutthroats with her stature just to be intimidated by him.
I told Vicky I'd call her on the day of my discharge after she insisted that she wanted to come pick me up.
