The Nellie Dean in Soho used to be one of the great advertising pubs. Dean Street, which was where you could find the Nellie, used to be littered with advertising agencies. GGT, GGK and CDP, BBH was nearby, and across the great South-North divide, Saatchi and Saatchi in NoHo. If you didn’t have three or more names above the door, you weren’t getting into the advertising club, it seemed.
