LOST LOVE

FEELINGS

Two days passed in jiffy with their practises going in full swing. Cabir and Navya were coming closer to each other . On the other hand Manik was trying his level best since these two days to tell Nandini about his feelings but he couldn’t.

But one thing was for sure that Manan friendship was a new gossip in the whole college. This time MANIK MALHOTRA was nervous . Nervous about proposing a girl or rather say scared of getting a negative response again but now he was adamant to convey his feelings to his lady love. Yes love these few days had allowed him to discover more about how he felt for her.

Manik( in mind): Nandini now its time to tell you about my feelings. I don’t know whether you feel the same about me or not. But i want to tell you how much i love you. I fell for on you from the day i saw your eyes. Rather it was love at first sight. Cabir was right i have to tell you about how i feel before its too late.

Today Manik was determined to tell nandini about his love. Manik saw Nandini walking in the corridor so without wasting any more time he just went to her and held her shoulders to turn her but before he could say anything he saw Nandini talking over her phone with someone

Manik: Nandini hey

Nandini: just 5 minutes .

Those 5 mins were like 5 years for Manik each passing second made his heart skip millions of beats but his wait was over soon when Nandini cancelled the call and turned towards him with an apologetic face for making him wait.

Nandini: Sorry Manik actually Amms is leaving for Manglore today. So i was just checking if she had safely boarded or not. 

Manik: So did she ? 

Nandini: What ? Oh Amms yes she boarded her bus like an hour ago . And she was telling me that she has some sort of special suprise for me and i am so excited

Manik was happy watching Nandini so excited and happy. But the next second reality dawned upon him when he realised his main motive to meet her 

Nandini: oh hello where are you lost? You wanted to say something 

Manik: ya nandini i just- , it’s me and-

Nandini: Why are you stammering so much and mvoing your words like a merrygo round. Say whatever it is. 

Manik to himself: Only if you’ll let me speak. You have no idea how difficult it is for me. Nandini’s Aiyappa please help me. 

Nandini: Manik if you want to tell me something make it quick because Cabir just texted that Princi wants to meet us.

Manik: wait. I’ll tell you right now . Actually Nandini it’s that i wanted to say that I L-. 

Another voice: Nanz

Just then Nandini turned and Manan saw a guy walking inside the corridor . But his face was not visible enough because of the bright light entering through the main door. Every girl was oogling on him and Fab 5 who was coming up to call Manan for the meeting princi were too shocked because first time girls were going gala over some other guy instead of well our Manik. 

The guy was walking ahead and now his face was quite visible. Before anyone could register anything Nandini ran towards that guy and jumped upon him. The guy twirled Nandini around 

Nandini: munchkin. Oh God. I missed you so damn much

The guy twirled and then kept her safe on ground. Now nandini was hugging him so tightly that there was not a single space for air even to pass. And here our hero was all burning red in jealousy 

Guy: i missed you too Nanz and i love you babes 

Nandini: i know how much you love me. It’s been 3 years since you last met me. 

Guy: sorry about that. By the way how did you like your surprise.

Nandini: surprise. Oh s**t. That means Amms knew about you. Its awesome. I love you so damn much.

Now Nandini realised that Fab 5 and Navya were just staring them with confusion written all over their faces. Nandini held the guy’s hand and walked with him towards her friends 

Nandini: Guys. Meet duffer. Oops 

Guy: Hi i am Aryaman. Nandini just loved calling me stupid names.

Nandini: Guys he is my best best best friend 

Arya: bestest friend since birth. Right Nanz? 

Nandini: yess. Bestest friend since birth

Mukti: hi i am Mukti 

Alya: i am Alya 

Dhruv: myself Dhruv

Navya: hi i am Navya and nandini’s best friend at college 

Arya: then we’ll surely be best buddies too.

Cabir sensed the seriousness and manik’s feelings

Cabir: hi i am cabir or you could say college’s biggest prankster.

Arya: oh so the college has someone like me too.

(Pointing towards manik).... And you brother? 

Manik: Hey i am Manik Malhotra Nandini’s friend 

Arya: good. I am happy that Nandini have so many friends in her life. 

Nandini: Duffer forget this intro game this will keep going on firstly let me show you the canteen . It’s fab here. 

Arya: And something’s never change. Foodie.

Nandini held Arya’s hand and dragged him towards the canteen while the others followed them even though manik didn’t felt like going but he had to because Nandini’s happiness was everything for him now

Mukti - guys and especially Manik do you remember only 2 days are left for your dare.

Cabir : Mukti you are still stuck at that. 

Manik : guys actually I wanted to tell you all something 

Manik narrated everything to them about their accident

Manik: guys I .....I have ...

Dhruv : buddy say 

Manik ( closed his eyes tightly ) : I have fallen in love with Nandini and i know it sounds completely out of place-

Cabir laughingly : I knew it. I so knew it. Manik sir is in love

Mukti : Manik I am happy for you but when are you proposing her

Alia : yes. Manik Do you need our help? I can help with the set up?

Manik: guys relax. I’ll do it myself when there will be the correct time

Fab 5 in unison : ok.

Cabir : guys let’s go to canteen Nandini and her duffer ..oops sorry I mean Aryaman are there

IN CANTEEN

All were sitting while Manik and Cabir had gone to bring something for everyone. Manik came back with a tray full of Nandini’s favourite food items but what he saw made his heart break. 

Nandini was sitting with aryaman holding his hand and chatting with a glint of happiness in her eyes. Nandini saw Manik and called out for him.

Nandini: Manik where were you come sit. 

Manik nodded his head in positive and sat exactly infront of Nandini beside Mukti. Cabir came back with the other food items and just then he saw Manik whose gaze was not leaving Nandini and Aryaman for once. To lighten the environment cabir gave an idea 

Cabir: Nandini Arya is back after so much time lets click selfies 

Nandini: yes . Duffer let’s click selfies na please 

Arya: fine as you wish.

But this plan backfired what cabir had thought before manik could proceed forward arya had held Nandini protectively in his arms and all were clicking selfies...

Nandini not once asked Manik or did not even notice him. So Manik just kept standing at one corner watching all this was soo painful for manik that he didn’t even realised when that coke can got smashed in his hands and its steel end cut his hand and blood came out of that cut

Nandini who was busy clicking selfies noticed Manik standing at a corner and moved towards him to bring him but what she saw made her shock, blood was coming out from Manik’s hand and he was just standing there like a lifeless soul. 

Nandini ran towards Manik and held his hands 

Nandini: Manik have you lost it. How can you not feel this blood, come let me take you to the medical room

But manik was angry with her so he jerked her hands and went alone leaving Nandini all confused

IN MEDICAL ROOM

Manik: Who the hell does she thinks she is. At one place she’ll ignore me and then the next she’ll care for me. No

Nandini entered the medical room. Marks of being worried was visible on her forehead

Nandini: Manik are you mad Or what? You just ran like that. Show me how deep this is.

Manik once again jerked her hands but Nandini held it again and before Manik could jerk it once again Nandini shouted

Nandini: just stop. And show me how bad this is but no you have to show that Manik Malhotra doesn’t feel pain. 

Manik: why are you here Nandini?

Nandini stared at him with shocked expressions: What do you mean?

Manik: go back and click pictures with your Duffer. And why are you so worried for me? 

Nandini: why? Can’t i care for you. We are friends and i have full right on you

Nandini just hugged Manik tightly and Manik after a while embraced Nandini. Now Manik’s full anger was melted.

Manik to himself: You are right you have full right on me to get angry with me or shout at me but not as a friend but as my life partner.
