On the final day, on the surveillance feed, Peggy slipped into a white dress and linked arms with Randal as they headed downstairs.
She told him her family's overseas trust fund had been unlocked, and she would take him to view the big mansion in Amberford while settling into her pregnancy there.
"There's just one last thing before we leave." Peggy held his hand, her tone dripping with soft affection. "Hank's private fund is closing soon. Throw in whatever you can before we fly out, and we'll cash out big once we get back."
"I've got no spare cash left; every cent's already in the fund," Randal replied.
"What about your mom's retirement savings?" Peggy tilted her head. "You can provide for her once we move to Amberford, so borrow that money temporarily."
