AAHIL When I was younger, way before my life became a nightmare, our whole family occasionally came to London on Dad’s business trips. I think this is the only place my mind doesn’t associate bad memories with. Maybe that’s why I brought Amal here. Apparently a lot has changed since that time. There’s comparatively a lot more practising Muslims here, which I’m sure is thrilling for Amal. Not all is bad in this world, I think to myself. There will always be good people as long as evil exists. Everything aside, there are still many weird people around here and from Amal’s body language, she feels uneasy. If this was another world, I would hold her hand and whisper soothing words into her ear. She looks at me as though reading my mind and a moment passes between us. Something inexpress
