Everyone is panicking and I wish there was a magic wand so that I could slow everything down and tell everyone to just stop, listen to me and calm down. “The guests have started arriving and I . . .” Aania says, hands gesturing dramatically to the door and then at herself. “I’m not even ready, Amal!” I move to grab her shoulders and look her in the eye. “It’s okay. You still have plenty of time to get ready,” She shakes her head and I give up, letting her panic and move to sit on the bed. “Fine, do whatever you want.” She stands in front of the mirror, throwing me a pleading look. “Help me with the makeup, please,” I throw my hands up. “I don’t know how to, Aania. And whatever I do, you won’t like it. As always,” She purses her lips. “You’re right. B
