I nodded off while Ro drove us, but a bump in the road has me now very awake. His hand rests on my thigh and he gently puts some pressure on it. I look at him and smile.
-'Welcome back to the world of the living'- he whispers to my mind and I feel goosebumps.
“Why can't I reply to you yet?" I say back.
“My Enna, always eager. We just fully mated a few hours ago and you want to have it all…" he trails off and lets his words set in.
He is right, this is a process that should take days, but the thrill of having to communicate with him this way is having me anxious. I look and notice we are approaching the city, and that means we will be near our people soon.
