Mallory sighed at Elodie’s words. “It sounds worse when you put it that way.” Elodie laughed, the deep-bodied sound filling the building and catching everyone’s attention. “It always does.” She faced the rest of the crowd. “It looks like we have another option.” She gestured towards Mallory and Ryan. “Two adventurers have arrived.” “You can’t expect so few to be capable of taking on all the smugglers,” a woman at the front of the room said. Her fair hair was cut short, her pointed ears claiming her elf heritage. “There are three more adventurers outside.” Roast gestured towards the open door. Elodie moved forward to look outside. “Two archers and a rogue.” She turned to face the room with a smile. “I vote for the adventurers. The most I’ve ever done is toss drunks out on their rears.”
