Once everyone had a half dose and the companion animals a quarter dose, Mallory took the bracelet from Brodie, returning it to the drawstring bag and putting it in her satchel along with the three full vials of strong night vision potions. She put the empty vials in the backpack. They now had five empty ones. She glanced around the group. “Are we ready to go?”
Ryan checked the compass he held. “The tunnel heads east.” He put the compass away. “We should get moving. We only have two hours until the potion wears off.”
“If it’s working.” Brodie strode towards the tunnel. “Can potions be defective? Or do they have a use by date?”
“It’s working.” Danae walked at his side, Fang on the other side of him.
“How do you know?” Brodie asked. “Everything looks normal to me.”
“Exactly,” Danae said
