Mallory stepped forward. “There were twenty-two vipers. The mother and twenty-one babies. Although they weren’t all that small.” She gestured towards the satchel Callum carried as well as the eggs Danae and Ryan held. “The mother had also laid quite a few eggs.”
“Ahh, you weren’t expecting me to pay for them too, were you?” The young man’s gaze was fixed on the eggs.
“No, we plan to take them into Surith to sell them.” Mallory glanced over her shoulder at the direction they’d come from. “Did you want us to show you the ones we killed? We’re planning on taking as many of the bodies as we can carry to Surith to also sell.”
The young man nodded to the bulging satchel. “By the look of how many you’ve got there, I’m sure you didn’t exaggerate. Did you still want Bug?”
“Yeah,” Brodie said.
